À propos de cet audio

When the body of Hunter Gearhardt washes up on the banks of a seasonal river outside of Pomacochas, Peru, with only samples of vegetation, a handful of feathers, two black- and gray-streaked rocks, and a golden headdress of indeterminate origin in his possession, his grieving father launches an expedition to determine how his son died. The party uses these clues to divine Hunter’s route into the jungle, where they find a surviving offshoot of a primitive tribe, long thought to be extinct, and something far more sinister, something that’s been able to avoid discovery for eons for one simple reason: No one leaves the rainforest alive.©2012 Michael McBride (P)2014 Michael McBride Suspense Thrillers et romans à suspense

This is my second venture into the imagination of Michael McBride replete with monsters and research and strange adventures. His books keep me interested and surprised and happy to learn something along the way. As much as I enjoyed the second half of Burial Ground, I found the first half rather tedious in its development of characters that are disappointingly cliche and predictable. But once these rather mundane characters were established and Mr. McBride began getting into the action, I was hooked; delighted by the jungle trek, unexpected turns and the threat of big birds (that have nothing to do with Sesame Street). Sadly, I found the ending to be a let-down since it lacked the surprise factor that threaded through the second half of the story. As usual, Gary Tiedeman is a capable narrator whose performance is always a pleasure. #Audible1.
