Publisher's Summary

Part of a small demon lair in Las Vegas, tattooist Harper Wallis lives a pretty simple life. That changes overnight when she discovers that her psychic mate, or "anchor", is a guy who's rumored to be the most powerful demon in existence. Compelling, full of secrets, and armed with raw sexuality, Knox Thorne is determined to claim her as his anchor, creating a psychic bond that will prevent their inner demons from ever turning rogue.

The billionaire also wants Harper in his bed. She's not so sure she wants either of those things. No one seems to know what breed of demon Knox is, only that he's more dangerous than anything she's ever before encountered. But he refuses to walk away. And when an unknown danger starts closing in on Harper, it seems that Knox is the only one who can keep her safe.

As Prime of his Las Vegas lair and a successful businessman, Knox Thorne is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. He'll have her, and he'll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Because Knox protects what's his. He won't allow anyone to take her from him. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make. Contains mature themes.

Like the book

I enjoyed the audiobook but not the narrator. She makes Rainie sound like an airhead and a lot of the times she didn’t do voices for others that were consistent and it was difficult to know who was supposed to be talking.

really interesting but the voices are a challenge

the stories really good it's really interesting but it's all detracted by the strange choices the narrator has made I'm not certain why cat Doucet chose to go with such immature and awkward vocal options throughout this story but it's a major to traction and deterrent throughout the story you will have to take a few moments periodically to accept that she has trouble sticking with the same voice for each character and to noting the difference between the human and the demon when speaking Knox in particular has about four different tones or pitches throughout the entire series sadly there do detract.

however the story is good enough that despite these particular floss it was worth continuing in finishing I would actually highly recommend this story to anyone it's a really good time it's fun and it's very fascinating I'm only real problem is just the narration could have been better but the story is one that I'll return to and despite my grievance I didn't stop listening to and will probably listen to again.

Great story, not so great narration

The narrator chose these whiny very long drawn out voices for every character. It makes a good story hard to get through.

Great story, Terrible Narrator

I really enjoyed the story but the narrator made it sound like a bunch of children in very adult situations. I found it very uncomfortable and annoying to listen to. The story itself was good. I love Suzanne Wright but I will never listen to anything by Cat Doucette again.

Not a bad story but the voice actress is awful

The story it’s self is fairly good, and I really like Suzanne Wright. But the narrator sucks, the voices of Harper’s friends all sound like spoiled bratty children. Not like the grown women that they are. Harper’s voice is manageable but I often had a hard time listening to the story because I was focused on how whiny and childlike the voices are.

The voices ..I just couldn't do it

So I appreciate the challenge of having to manage multiple distinct voices including many not your own gender; however, the more I listened, the more painful it became.

I will admit, I find it cringey enough to listen to audio of any erotic moment when the man is played by a woman. But in this case, it was just bad. It just sounds like the main character is being played by a bad rendition of a Batman voice who is trying far too hard to talk sexy. And the other main characters' voice was very whiny sounding.

The story wasn't bad. It had some good ideas, but in my opinion, the pure male dominance was a little too much when it came to him not giving her a choice of whether she wanted sex. That's a personal note. I just don't think making THAT notion sexy should ever be promoted.
