Publisher's Summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand-new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire.

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career - a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile situation. Nevada isn't sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she's kidnapped by Connor "Mad" Rogan - a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run and wanting to surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan's after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she's getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

good book very enjoyable

The narrating of the book was fairly good. The voice tones and a fluctuations added a lot to the story. The story was good and left you wondering what was going to happen next throughout it. The book has a nice ending that left you wondering could there be possible more yet it had a complete conclusion so you felt fulfilled by the ending.

Fantastic supernatural romance

In a world very similar to our own, a magic serum was discovered. This changed the course of human history.

Fantastic world building, with lots of tidbits thrown in. you get the bigger picture as you need it. No huge, boring info dumps or a lengthy build up. the information also doesn't kill the flow of the story. it's both incorporated/relevant to the scene and feels like someone's train on thought.

Navada is a fantastic female role model as well as realistic. she considers her actions and their consequences as well as having no sudden or unrealistic "oops I'm just now so powerful and can do anything needed to save myself" moments. she remains consistent and down to earth through her 3 books (only the first 3 follow Navada.)

Renee Roudman does a fantastic job both with matching her energy to the scene and to making the voices distinguishable. Her voice for Rogan is a great deeper growl that I absolutely adore and think fists his personality to a T.

I have to admit I'm just huge a fan of anything Ilona Andrews but if you enjoy this series I will encourage you to check out her other works. the Innkeeper series is very much worth it IMHO.
