Publisher's Summary
A Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post, and Amazon Charts best seller
From number one New York Times best-selling phenomenon Sylvia Day comes a hotly anticipated and passionate new love story.
Once, I would never have imagined myself here. But I’m settled now. In a place I love, in a home I renovated, spending time with new friends I adore, and working a job that fulfills me. I am reconciling the past and laying the groundwork for the future.
Then Garrett Frost moves in next door.
He’s obstinate and too bold, a raging force of nature that disrupts the careful order of my life. I recognize the ghosts that haunt him, the torment driving him. Garrett would be risky in any form, but wounded, he’s far more dangerous. I fear I’m too fragile for the storm raging inside him, too delicate to withstand the pain that buffets him. But he’s too determined…and too tempting.
And sometimes hope soars above even the iciest desolation.
Emotional and heartrending, Butterfly in Frost marks a brilliant return by global sensation Sylvia Day, the number-one international multimillion best-selling author of the Crossfire saga.

Overall ok but lacks development. Potential is there
*spoilers ahead*
Storyline: At first I was intrigued by Frost’s attraction to Teagan’s personally and caught me of guard but I chalked it up to live at first sight and I was willing to let that slide. I figured he would eventually explain why and as the story moved along, that explanation never came until the very last possible event.
The storyline ends with the explanation, so you spend the entire read guessing what’s happened in both of the main character’s past that has made them so broken. Apart from knowing that Frost lost his son not so long ago, you have no clue why Teagan is so broken and that makes it hard to understand her and love her character. It does however make up for it when the truth is revealed.
I wish the author would have developed the backbone of the story a little more. It was difficult for me to finish the book the book way it did. I felt that when the truth was revealed that’s where things should’ve of picked up, not stopped.... The book ends here.
Performances: I had a hard time with Emma Wilder’s rendition of Teagan’s character. It was very breathy and made it hard to listen to. Was it a audio/recording issue ? Maybe.... but I found it took away from the story. Her rendition of Frost’s voice though was very raspy and totally sexy.
Joe Arden as always was phenomenal.
Overall: I was surprised by the ending and tormented by the fact that it ended there. I’m hoping Sylvia comes out with book two.

Sylvia day is always a good read
the only thing that I was not happy with in the book was the narrator changed close to the end of the book and I lost focus on the characters as the voice didn't match anymore.

Loved It!!
You can't compare this to Cross Fire, It is completely different and it drives me nuts when people do that. I go into each book with an open mind.
I loved the narrators, I would of loved to hear more Joe Arden but I felt like Emma Wilder was perfect for her character.
I loved that we got updates on the Crossfire main characters, That was an added bonus. I love Ava!!
Without giving anything away I loved the end. I wasn't excepting it for some reason.
It wasn't what I excepted at all and I wish it would of been a lot longer just because I love Sylvia Day and her books. I recommend it. It had just the right amount of love, story, and lust. It wasn't missing anything and the end summarized everything.

The entire "female" performance is in a whisper.
narrator really needs to have a stronger voice. you really can only hear the male part well.

Good -- until the plot 'twist'
Enjoyed the story until the last two chapters. The plot twist felt contrived and was a complete 180 to the story. I didn't buy it at all, especially given the characters' behaviors throughout chapters 1-14. Completely changed my opinion of the story. The author needed to add more clues and some of the earlier dialogue and behaviors ended up making no sense based on the reveal.
Wanted to like this but was disappointed.

Not the best Sylvia Day book
I have listened to most of her books and the narrator on this one leaves some to be desired. The story line just doesn't grab my attention like her other books. I actually was listening and had to switch to another book. I listened for about two hours or halfway thru and just decided it wasn't worth the other two hours. Unfortunate for me, I pre-ordered this book and was out of the country when it came in and I cant return it.

Not. A. Winner!
I could not wait for this to end! I did not connect to either of the main characters. The narration of the male voice was a bit freaky to me, and not in a cool way. The swearing was unnecessary and added no excitement. Not hot. Not sexy.

Listen twice
This is one of those stories you'll want to hear twice. Especially after the ending, I won't post any spoilers though. I do like the fact that Sylvia touched on the grief of losing someone close to you, not simply right after but the struggles that come months later. The narrative was excellent and I really enjoyed this book.

I’m torn
First off I am a huge Sylvia Day fan. I have listened to all of her books, not even going to mention how many times of listened to the cross fire series. Butterfly in the frost was good, but it wasn’t suck you in can’t put it down good. It was missing something for me. Anyway I’m still a huge fan and will continue to buy all of her books. The narrator did and amazing job!

Butterfly
Don’t recommend this one. Romantic passages are just too graphic. Difficult to feel the passion amidst torrid descriptions of sex organs on display. The ‘mystery’ seems to play second fiddle to the mish-mash of sweaty dialogue.

If you want steamy sex scenes, this book is for you. Want a plot? Not so much.
I struggled to connect with the characters in this book initially, and almost gave up. A reality TV doctor! A famous artist and photographer!
Their initial attraction to each other was not realistic, and I struggled with that as well.
But there was enough in the story and character development that I kept on, hoping to engage with these characters.
The ending was so forced and contrived, and the failure to connect to past events so overlooked, that I honestly felt f****d.
Either the characters have both had a psychotic break, or the author doesn’t care about developing a plot line or making any attempt at creating a realistic ending to the story.
Blah
