Publisher's Summary

What the critics say

“For some of us, reading The Corps series is like eating popcorn at the movies: you can never eat just one kernel, and you can never get enough. Griffin captures the smell of the smoke of battle as vividly as if one were on the beach at Guadalcanal.” ( The Philadelphia Inquirer)
“This man has really done his homework.... I confess to impatiently awaiting the appearance of succeeding books in the series.” ( The Washington Post)

A Beloved Series, Ruined

I've read this series a few times, and thought I'd pick up the audiobooks for my now very long commute to work each day. I love the books, but I'm afraid the audiobook versions are completely ruined for me. The narrator is quite possibly the worst I've heard since coming to the world of audiobooks; he seems to often run out of breath, has some strange rhythm and timing, and quite possibly The. Worst. Liverpudlian accent I've ever heard - why even attempt it, I wonder? It's too bad, because I've enjoyed most of Griffin's books, across multiple series, and Dick Hill narrates many of the audiobook versions - I'll be staying away from any series that includes his narration.
