Publisher's Summary

In the shocking finale to the best-selling series that began with Stalking Jack the Ripper, Audrey Rose and Thomas are on the hunt for the depraved, elusive killer known as the White City Devil. A deadly game of cat-and-mouse has them fighting to stay one step ahead of the brilliant serial killer - or see their fateful romance cut short by unspeakable tragedy.

Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell have landed in America, a bold, brash land unlike the genteel streets of London. But like London, the city of Chicago hides its dark secrets well. When the two attend the spectacular World's Fair, they find the once-in-a-lifetime event tainted with reports of missing people and unsolved murders.

Determined to help, Audrey Rose and Thomas begin their investigations, only to find themselves facing a serial killer unlike any they've encountered before. Identifying him is one thing, but capturing him - and getting dangerously lost in the infamous Murder Hotel he constructed as a terrifying torture device - is another.

Will Audrey Rose and Thomas see their last mystery to the end - together and in love - or will their fortunes finally run out when their most depraved adversary makes one final, devastating kill?

Disappointed

I had eagerly finished the other books in the series, eagerly awaiting the endings. I had this book pre-ordered, and was so excited I had the physical copy and had to download the audible version. This was more of a drama. It was hard for me to get through the book, and I had hoped it would get better. I had a few good parts, but was hard to read. I’ll be returning the audible version for this one.

Love! I need more.

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a wonderful conclusion to the series although I think she could totally continue it as an adult series and I would definitely read that! I loved the way the author twisted the series and gave you a few wait what (!) moments. I loved how she allowed Audrey to really shine in this story while continuing the romance of the couple and not letting either overshadow the other.
The narrator as always did a wonderful job and really drew me into the characters and storyline. I am sad to see the end to this book but can’t wait to see what the author writes next!

best series I read in ages

absolutely loved this series. Someone find me a Thomas to marry!

the narrator is lovely. She did the Jackaby series as well, which I also loved. Maybe I should check what other books she has read because I pove the way she narrates the books :)

A PERFECT ending to a PERFECT series!

I loved each and every novel in this series! The stories were very well written and tied together perfectly. I was totally invested in the beautiful loving relationship between Thomas and Audrey Rose. Those two were an amazing team of forensic investigators as well as loving life partners. The back stories each of them had was so well written and just fantastic. I highly recommend this series and look forward to future offerings from Kerri.

Glad the series is finished

The first two books were incredible, but this book, like the third was just tedious most of the way through. I did enjoy the author bringing the stories together and including characters from previous books. But there was no mystery as you waited for the obvious climax/perpetrator to finally be acknowledged. That being said, I still enjoy the author’s writing style.
