It was easy for Casca to go along with some of the basic premise behind the Nazi war machine. These men were soldiers, hard fighting men born of the same militaristic outlook that had sustained him since that fateful day at Calvary.

Publisher's Summary
Casca Longinus: Cursed by Christ on Golgotha. He is condemned to outlive the ages, wandering the globe as a constant soldier. He struggles on merely surviving, fighting, waiting for "Him" to return.
Centuries later, awakened from frozen slumber by the touch of a beautiful young woman, Casca journeys from the Northern wasteland to the legendary Constantinople, and then on to the war-ravaged shores of North Africa. He must struggle with the agony of his eternal curse - all the while waging war against the razor sharp fanaticism of the bloodthirsty Brotherhood that hunts him.

a very full story
the ninth book in this series, we are back in the distant past and we find casca suffering through his existence. in this story, he finds a new reason to live but where the Story begins is not where it ends and he finds that everything is very temporary. this is a very full and well-rounded story and it is very descriptive and well-thought-out. It is good as a stand-alone feature but also adds to the whole of the story that is kaska's Passage through eternity on Earth. you will find yourself feeling sorry for casca and his curse and for his misfortunes in his personal life. But I very much recommend this book has casca also get a very small bit of a Revenge.
