Publisher's Summary

The national best seller

Hilarious best friends Cat and Nat created a massive online community of moms by sharing their ultra-real and just a bit R-rated dispatches from the mom trenches. From what not to eat a few days after giving birth (chicken wings) to the most effective ways to dodge post-partum sex, Cat & Nat’s Mom Truths shares everything no one will tell you about having kids.

Mixing memoir, humor, and advice, Cat and Nat tell never-before-told stories about the stress, guilt, joy, and laundry (oh the laundry!) of being a mom in their first book. With seven kids between them and millions of fans on social media, they get real about the parts of parenting that somehow don’t make the Instagram feed. Sharing their outrageous humor, fearless myth-busting, and genuine comfort, they walk you from pregnancy to the toddler years and beyond. And they dole out ridiculously honest advice, like what you think you need at the hospital when you have your first baby (lip gloss) versus what you actually need (hemorrhoid pillow), and how worried you should really be about germs (less than you are). Fearless crusaders against the perfection myth and all the gluten-free, sugar-free baking it entails, Cat and Nat assure you that you’re already doing a great job, making this an essential companion for moms everywhere.

What the critics say

"Accept the chaos, embrace the mom bod and stress less about germs, among other things. That's courtesy of Catherine Belknap and Natalie Telfer, friends from high school who reconnected as first-time mothers. Parenting books left them feeling like they already blew it, the writers said, so they looked elsewhere for affirmation." (Wall Street Journal)

“With their Mom Truths that’ll resonate with overwhelmed moms everywhere, Cat and Nat tell you in a hundred wildly hilarious ways the easiest thing to forget, and the most important thing to remember: You’re already doing a great job.” (Dawn Dais, author of The S--t No One Tells You About Pregnancy: A Guide to Surviving Pregnancy, Childbirth and Beyond)

“Cat and Nat’s Mom Truths takes everything that’s scary about being a mom and makes it hilarious.” (Karen Alpert, New York Times best-selling author of I Heart My Little A-Holes

Boring

I couldn't get past the first hour. Too much babble about nothing. Was hoping for witty, relatable banter - not not one lol moment.
Disappointing.
Wish I had rt it for my credit within the 30days but kept hoping it would get better. Nope.

Love at first listen!

I say first listen because I will definitely be back again and again. It is a feel good book for any mom. Heck it was good enough to want to go downstairs to my coffin treadmill, pop my ear buds in and run...and that is saying a LOT cause I hate running.
All that said there was one part I didn’t love...the labour/delivery/recovery horror stories. I get it they are the stories of brining your little ones into the world but when I was a first time pregnant mom these are the only stories I heard. Everyone in their dog told me how bad it could be. I want into labour so scared I physically/mentally wouldn’t let my body do what it needed and is designed to do...thus I ended up with my very own horror story. I was going to buy this book for an expecting mom friend but because of those chapters I am going to hold of and give it has a shower gift once baby has safely arrived.
But again love the book, love you girls and love the the mom tribe.

This book was written about me!

This book perfectly captures what motherhood really is like. No sugar coating. I wish I had a friend like Cat or Nat who would have been honest with me before having my first baby, as I was completely unprepared and honestly struggled almost daily for the first year. Every mother to be should read this!

Thought it would be funnier

It is funny but for the most part it’s preachy. Can’t get over the nasty attitude toward the talky Play date Mom. I am THAT mom. Sometimes play dates are the only interaction with adults I ever get. How about a little understanding for the socially awkward mom?

Great fun read

The book was interesting and I love that the authors both read it. I 100% disagree with the sex chapter though. I do not like how they gave women ideas on how to blow off their husbands about sex. Yes, sex immediately after having a baby needs to wait and men need to be patient. No one should be having sex until they are ready and healed up. Sex is a very important part of a relationship though for both parties involved. I loved the book except that one chapter.

I liked a majority of what they had to say.

Their personal experiences I love. Some of the things they do to prevent their husbands from admiring their bodies I didn’t like so much. It’s not nice to play with someone’s emotions or lead them on and let them down. I wouldn’t like that done to me, that’s just me though I am always straight up and tell him “no, not today, no way buddy......”

I do love how accepting they are of who they are and others. Inspiring others to love who they are is something our world is in much need of. I was very happy with this book and would recommend it. Heart felt supportive words with good personal stories that will leave your abs sore. Don’t pass this up.

It was like hanging out with you best friends

This book was honest and hilarious. As a new mom I’ve already felt the guilt, defeat, and judgement that often comes along with motherhood. This book confirmed that it is all ok and all will be ok. I felt like I was hanging with friends, sharing war stories. The fact that they read it themselves set the tone and made you truly feel like you were sitting there with them hanging out. Their delivery was hilarious. I’ve already recommended it to friends!
