Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times best-selling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by-the-book attorney who could be her salvation...or her ruin.

Avett Walker's and Quaid Jackson's worlds have no reason to collide. Ever. Quaid is a high-powered criminal attorney as slick as he is handsome. Avett is a pink-haired troublemaker with a bad attitude and a history of picking the wrong men.

When Avett lands in a sea of hot water because of one terrible mistake, the only person who can get her out of it is the insanely sexy lawyer. The last thing on earth she wants to do is rely on the no-nonsense attorney who thinks of her as nothing more than a nuisance. He literally has her fate in his hands. Yet there is something about him that makes her want to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun...with her.

Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with a Technicolor dye job. She could stand to learn a hard lesson or two, but something about her guileless hazel eyes intrigues him. Still, he's determined to keep their relationship strictly business. But doing so is becoming more impossible with each day he spends with her.

As they work side by side, they'll have to figure out a way to get along and keep their hands off each other - because the chemistry between them is beyond charged.

Great insight into the mind

I really enjoyed this book. It just shows that bad girls can change to good girls. This hot romance gives the reader great insight into the two characters, their personality, their background and their character. Jay Crownover does a great job of creating complex characters that appear to be just every day people. In the beginning they appear to be very different people, but in reality they are similar. The narrators do a wonderful job of distinguishing between each of the characters and they contribute to the personalities of each. Looking for more books by this author.

Very Disappointed....

I have come to expect a lot from Jay Crownover's books. She is creative and fun to read. I have everything she has put out and I have loved them all. Until now. I never found Avett to be likable. Charged did not change that. She is a spineless wonder. I had high hopes for this book based on a passage in the last book. Sadly, this is the worst book of Ms. Crownover's I have listened to.

Monica Palms narration is painful to listen to. I had to turn this book off so many times because of it. The male narrators are good.

l would read this one instead of listening to it. It might be enjoyable that way. If you don't have time for that then I would skip Charged. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Not as good as Jay's other books!

Any additional comments?

I didn't really care for the book that much. I liked the charactersbut the storyline was kind of uninteresting IMO if that makes sense. I loved the marked men books and her book Built from this series but this one, not so much. I read a complaint that there was a lot of inner dialogue and not enough dialogue between the characters and that is spot on. You could not get that attached to the H and h all that much IMO because so much of the talking was inner dialogue and not to each other. Jet seemed to have that same issue. Jay needs to stay away from that habit IMO.

I usually can't put Jay's books down and listen to most over and over but with this one, I really don't intend to ever read/listen to this one again and had a little bit of a hard time getting through it. But as I said, I really liked the two main characters so I wish they were given a better storyline and instead of so much inner dialogue, which became very annoying, more dialogue between each other. For example, on both of the last two sex scene, they had one exchange with about five words each during each one and the rest was description and inner dialogue. I want my H and h to talk more. They never spoke until after, except that one short meaningless exchange each

The narration was fine. I really liked the voice for Quaid and the female pulled off sounding young well but didn't do as good when she did male voices but was fine. Also, whoever did the narration for Church for a chapter, did great also.

I read or listen to several romance books a week so I have become very discriminating since I "read" so many so I am going to be honest about my feelings, even if a lot may really like and give it 5 stars. It is just that IMO, I would give many of Jay's books 5s but since I didn't find this book near as good as those, I couldn't just give it all 5s even if it is just my opinion.

So much yes

I loved Marked Men and I loved Built, I didn't intend to love Charged as much because Avett and Quaid were not my favorite characters but boy was I wrong. A and Q quickly won me over. I began to see why Avett was such a mess up and why Quaid was such a tool.

They are unconventional at best but oh so perfect for each other. There was a lot of action and even a cameo from Church! And I hope Church gets his own book and they use the same narrator because lawdy!

Monica and Michael were awesome narrators for Avett and Quaid.

This was even better than I imagined

I struggled to stop playing this book. I adore everything Jay Crownover puts out and this book didn't disappoint. The narrators brought the story to life with their intonations and inflections. The deep gravelly texture of Michael Reeve's voice was just how I imagined Church sounding and Monica and Adam seemed to have their own love for each other. Definitely worth listening to.

You can never got wrong with a Jay Crownover book!

What made the experience of listening to Charged the most enjoyable?

I felt like this book was so different because the main character was a girl when I read her books I am so use to it being a mans story with a girl as the second thought. I loved that it was her story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was me laugh and cry. Because her story was so raw and broken that I felt what she was going through!

Any additional comments?

You can never go wrong with one of her books! She is an amazing and the books speak for it!

I'm "Changed" about this book!

I almost was not going to by this book, but i m so happy I did! I was not pleased with the first book in this series and was skeptical about continuing with this series, but I'm so happy I did!

Very surprised

Before starting I was not excited about the main characters but I have to say they rank toward the top of my favorites that Jay Crownover has crafted. A bit more repetitive then the others have been but wow the depth was pretty great. Loved how this one included so many people from past books. I hope that continues!

Terrible

I don't mind the steamy stuff... In fact, I would expect it in a book like this. That said, there also needs to be some storyline or the book gets boring to me, and quickly. Worst money ever spent right here. I couldn't even finish it.
