Being kidnapped by aliens is only the start of Jade's problems. Thankfully, her rescuers, an alien race known as the Clecanians, are willing to protect her, but she has to stay on their planet for one year and respect the rules of their culture - including choosing a husband. Jade refuses at first but decides to play along until she can find a way back to Earth.

Theo, a scarred mercenary who prefers a life of solitude, is stunned when Jade selects him as her husband. After years of being passed over, he never imagined he would be chosen and neither did anyone else. Only one explanation makes sense...the curvy enticing female must be a spy, and Theo's determined to break her cover using any means necessary.

As Jade and Theo are forced to spend time together, their chemistry becomes undeniable. But neither can afford to bring love into the equation, especially since Jade seems determined to go home. After all, she can't possibly stay here, right?

Great story ... amazing book in the series or as a standalone. Narrator Stephen Dexter brought a dark and steamy energy. Passionate and funny from start to finish can't wait for the next book.

I liked the book, I loved the audiobook. The narrator was perfect as Theo and surprisingly his “female” voice was not bad. Those growls, goodness me. Definitely recommended giving this a listen.

I have throughly enjoyed this book. This is my first alien book and I am have the love for reading different genre and trope. This book made me laugh, giggle, cheer, got teary eyed and happy with the ending. 🌸

This is also my first book by Victoria Aveline. I would happily read the rest of the books in the series. ❤️

As an avid enjoyer of romance stories this was quite the treat, if you've ever caught yourself thinking "I can fix him" then this story is definitely for you.

I honestly love this book! it's spicy in some parts, heartbreaking in others & most importantly it made me laugh!

I related to the characters and their pain, the story was beautiful.. I'm not a romantic but some parts made my heart skip a beat!

I definitely recommend this book, I can't wait to read/listen to the others!

The reader did a great performance, the story and the world are interesting, but a few things are left without answers at the end (ex: what happenend to the evil character).
