Publisher's Summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Sophie Kinsella returns with a festive new Shopaholic adventure filled with holiday cheer and unexpected gifts.

’Tis the season for change and Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is embracing it, returning from the States to live in the charming village of Letherby and working with her best friend, Suze, in the gift shop of Suze’s stately home. Life is good, especially now that Becky takes time every day for mindfulness...which actually means listening to a meditation tape while hunting down online bargains.

But Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents host, carols play on repeat, her mother pretends she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors come ’round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters. Things are looking cheerier than ever, until Becky’s parents announce they’re moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch - unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocados - and ask Becky if she’ll host this year. What could possibly go wrong?

Her sister demands a vegan turkey, her husband insists that he just wants aftershave - again, and little Minnie demands a very specific picnic hamper: Surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old-boyfriend-turned-rock-star and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear. But as the countdown to Christmas begins and her big-hearted plans take an unexpected turn toward disaster, Becky starts to wonder if chaos will ensue, or if she’ll manage to bring comfort and joy to Christmas after all.

Sophie Kinsella does it again!

I’m a huge SK fan. Christmas Shopaholic does her proud! This book had so many madcap mishaps to poor Becky Brandon,née Bloomwood, it made me want to write out a list of all she was juggling at once to host the perfect Christmas. Becky’s true blue personality shines throughout this book.
After SK’s first Becky Brandon, née Bloomwood, book Confessions of a Shopahoilc, which is my favorite Shopaholic book, this is my my second favorite.
BRAVO SOPHIE!

First Shopaholic/Kinsella book!

Surpassed my expectations. Well written with real life, witty sense of humour throughout from a wife/mother point of view.

Love love love Becky Brandan NE: Bloomwood

Great storyline, as always. Narrations was on par. Definitely recommended. It's a "on a nice raining day in the bubblebath" kind of book.

I just couldn't get through it

I generally love this genre, and have devoured Shopholic books in the past. I tried repeatedly to list to this one but just can't do it. The story is overly predictable and the narration makes the characters way too much ... almost like caricatures.

Painful to listen to

Okay I get the title of the book is shopaholic but how Becky thinks things through is beyond irritating. I’ve been listening for hours and haven’t felt a connection to any of the characters and Becky herself in so insanely shallow that it’s hard to even care.
I can’t finish it. I tried but ugh it’s too painful. I wanted something fun and lighthearted and this book is just aggravating.

Hilarious & an important final message

Loved the win over an old sexist male tradition! The final message of true unconditional family love made me slow down my Christmas chaos. Thank you! I highly recommend reading right before the holidays!
Bravo again Sophia Kinsella!

I have missed Sophie K books!

I truly love Sophie Kinsella’s books. It’s funny because she references heartwarming Christmas movies in the book and this is book on par with one of those (which I love), only even more heartwarming, funnier, and even more adventurous than some plain Christmas movie. She has a knack for making you laugh the entire book and really grow to love and appreciate each character independently. This book is no exception.

On a side note: Sometimes I find myself agitated that she is with Luke, who is seemingly heartless and condescending throughout each story, but Sophie always wraps things up in a way that make you love her and Becky even more. If Becky loves Luke, who am I to judge?

Warm Holiday Fun!

Fans of Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) will really enjoy this sweet Christmas romp. It feels closer to the original Shopaholic books: a ton of heart mixed with the hilarious, wild scenarios Becky seems to find herself in. It's fun to see past characters as they grow and change (especially her parents trying out the hipster life, Suze becoming a school-crafts goddess, and Luke using his savvy to get to the bottom of sticky situations). I loved this story and can't wait to read whatever Sophie Kinsella creates next! This was also my favorite audio narrator for Kinsella's novels!

Wonderful, fun read for any season!

Sophie Kinsella has done it again! Becky is a lovable well meaning protagonist who doesn't always get it right, but goes after everything she wants with gusto. This book is charming, funny and it flies by. I wish I could find more books like this. Christmas is in the book, but I could definitely enjoy it any time of the year.

Fantastic

as always Sophie gas written a wonderful book, to the point I forgot it before a long flight, so downloaded the audiobook just so I could find our what happens.

I laughed a lot and lots of funny looks from other passengers, but Sophie's book was worth it.
