I thoroughly enjoyed this
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. There was a good variety of characters, and the complexity of characters and their character arcs were well thought-out. I was also pleased both that the battle scenes were not too gory, nor was there ever some big sex scene, which seems almost inevitable anymore in this style of story.
Not everyone survives to the end (as should obviously be when the story surrounds a war, though so many authors just make it happen), and those that do die are both made meaningful and are well-recognized (not just brushed over).
I had to chuckle at a few of the narrator’s female voices, but he did a great job at staying consistent with which voice he used for which character. I had to get a little used to the accent, but once I did, he was easy to understand, spoke at a good pace, and spoke in a good variety of tones/paces/etc as befitted the storyline.
Overall, I would definitely read this author and listen to this narrator again 😊
Thank you both for all of your hard work!

Enjoyable from start to finish. Well worth a credit. Four solid sword and sorcery books in a satisfying collection.

uh uh oh noooo
The story was okay but predictable, campy, and formulaic. The narrator was incredibly outstandingly atrocious with female voices. He made the main character Harper sound like a dull witted fool. Misogynistic? Sabotage? Incredibly bad. I hope I didn't pay for this one.
