DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

These three books are part 1,2 and 3
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Come Undone:
I so wanted to throw Olivia off the tallest building that David builds. She is such a flip flopping whore. Either leave your husband and go to David or stop leading him on. What makes her so sure she is worth David’s attention, or any man. Bill might be an ass but she married him, so she made her bed, now sleep in it.
Not finished the book yet, I’m trying to finish it. Liv is pissing me off.
The narrator Andi Arndt was awesome.
I’ll let you know..........

Come Alive:
If you don’t like the characters in book one you won’t like them anymore......
Just starting this book.....
Ok. No difference. This Olivia character is annoying. I hate everything to do with her. David needs someone better. He is I beautiful man,
I can’t finish this book. I might try the next and last book.

So far this series is totally a disappointment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Good thing I only spent $13.12 for it.

The dangerous myth to explore.

An interesting exploration of the emotions and dynamics after marriage. My only issues is that finding a David is a dangerous myth. Liv has some pretty realistic concerns in the first book. I don't condone adultery but this book is a good place to explore some concepts and consequences.

What a great series!

I just love it when I’m able to get a complete series in one shot. Even better when the series is as good as this. Binge worthy listen, in fact I stayed up all night because I couldn’t wait until morning to finish.

Cityscape Affair Series

Cityscape Affair Series: The Complete Box Set (A Forbidden Love Romance) is a excellently written contemporary romance. The writing is compelling and consistent. This trilogy progresses quickly and doesn't add unnecessary fluff. The story is realistic and fully blended into mini plots to the main story. This love story is intense with heartbreak, real, raw, and character chemistry is hot off the charts. The storyline comes full circle and ends happily.

Andi Arndt single narration performance was phenomenal. Every character emotion was brought out.

A solid listen

I love Andi arndt!

I love listening to Andi Arndt, the series though- I got really sick of the female main character insecurities and overthinking it. Every time there was a problem in the second book it was annoying. You’ll know what I mean once you listen to it.

Raw & Real!

This series packs an emotional punch. It encourages the reader to be open minded and to be willing to see that there are two sides to every story and relationship. It’s not always black and white. There is no right or wrong. I appreciate that the author didn’t shy away from the sensitive subject. This isn’t a fairytale. It’s raw and real and will take you through the emotional wringer. It will push you outside your comfort zone while allowing you to see the world from a different perspective.

Andi Arndt did an incredible job bringing Jessica Hawkin’s words and characters to life.

Book 2 sucks

I’m at Chapter 20 in the second book and this story line is about to be put in the DNF stack. Olivia has spent this entire BOOK yo-yo’ing which man she wants. This is ridiculous. She is not a heroine that I can admire. Let’s hope Book 3 is better or I won’t finish it and probably won’t read this author again

I was hooked at the beginning!

I just LOVE Andi Arndt at the narrator 💕💕. I absolutely adored David and Olivia’s romance. All the up and downs they endured. Olivia always the one to have it together, until she finds David! I just truly enjoyed this and Jessica Hawkins did a fabulous job.

One of my new favorites!!

Audiobook Review

This is the second book with cheating that I’ve read, and I’m surprised how much I actually loved this story and the main characters so much. I was a little wary going into it but I’d say a few chapters in and I knew I was going to love Olivia and David Dylan. I mean these two are soulmates and from the second they meet one another you can feel that. Everything about this story and the characters has me smitten and completely blown away. It's a beautiful, emotional, sensual, heartbreaking, angsty read that will not want to let you stop until you’re done.

I think Olivia and David Dylan are two of my favorite characters. This book really sucked me in and had me on an emotional roller coaster of my life. However, this book is 100% not for everybody. If you are against cheating then this is definitely not a book for you and I do not suggest reading it. Just keep that in mind before picking it up.

Andi Arndt did an amazing job narrating this story. Her voice is soothing and very pleasant to listen to. Great job!!

Overall I really loved this series. This is definitely one of those series that I would definitely re-read. I can’t say enough good things about it.

Addicting story, Andi Arndt stellar narration!

This was such an addictive listen! I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen with Olivia. The push and pull between her and David was irritating at times and how no matter how many time he professed his love and infatuation with her she was always doubting him.

Having said that, the writing is superb and kept me engaged throughout the entire trilogy. The characters just a bit frustrating at times. I was completely immersed in this story while listening and devoured the audiobook (trilogy) quite quickly. Andi Arndt does an incredible job with this narration.

Highly recommend. Warnings: infidelity, love triangle

Agonizing and angsty

I loved that we get all three books of the trilogy at once. Olivia and David’s story was emotionally charged. It was filled with pain, angst and heartbreak.

Olivia frustrated me with her indecisiveness, insecurities and overthinking. I wanted to give up on the story multiple times but somehow I got enticed back to it.

Andi Arndt is an excellent narrator. She has never disappointed in delivering all the emotions of the character.

Loads of angst

If you believe in kismet, if you've found the one, then you can understand the magnetic pull between Olivia and David. Now, that's not to say I buy into the complete obsession they seem to have even before David knows her name, but this is fiction, so we'll go with it. I mean, I wouldn't be thrilled with any of these characters if it were real life - well, except maybe Brian and Gretchen, but that's another story - but that's the beauty of falling into a book.
And here's where I tell you that I didn't really like most of these characters in the fictional world either. There were so many times when I really, really disliked one or more of these characters. Of course, there are a couple we're not supposed to like, but I'm talking about our big three in this love triangle. I went back and forth so many times. One minute I would be sure that Olivia didn't deserve either Bill or David because both treated her far better than she deserved. Then, one or the other would act like a big ol' jerk and I'd be sure she needed to be with the other. Then, I'd be sure she should just walk away from both. Oh, wait! Then there were the times when I'd be all about Olivia and David, but I'd feel so sorry for Bill.
The funny thing is Olivia is the one who pushed my buttons the most. Bill and David had their moments, but I could get behind some of their actions. David is arrogant and overbearing, but he put Olivia's safety above anything else. Bill - well, Bill was an odd one. I didn't like some things about him, but when things took a turn, I kind of feel like he got a raw deal. He's kind of painted in a bad light, and he had his moments, but I could understand his anguish and his need to lash out. But Olivia was an exercise in frustration. She's an absolute mess, and her back and forth drove me to distraction- then after a while, it annoyed the daylights out of me. Her inner monologue of indecision is the biggest drawback of this one, at least for me. I mean, I understand the reasons for some of it, but how much did this guy have to do to show her he meant business?
Needless to say, the angst level is through the roof. So much so that I had to step away a few times, read something fluffy, then come back. The audio for the trilogy is somewhere around 30 hours. That's a lot of angst.
Now, any of that could easily cause me to lose interest, but I just couldn't completely walk away from this story. Whether it was the characters or the need to know how it would all play out or that the author is just that good, I was all in, and I had to keep going. So, yes, I did step away, but I came back every single time. And I have to say that David and Olivia were absolutely scorching hot together. Like hot enough to set the curtains on fire, and there was no cooling off for them either. So there is no shortage of passion in their story.
Andi Arndt narrates the trilogy, and she does it superbly just as I expected. I've yet to be disappointed in her performance on any audio, and she doesn't disappoint here either.
All in all, this trilogy had its ups and downs for me. There were things I liked and things I didn't, but it was still well worth the listen. I did have to set it aside and take a breather now and then, but angst and all, Jessica Hawkins paints characters who get under your skin.
