Delightful
Elle Fanning does a great job narrating the different characters in the second BABYSITTERS CLUB book. Also purchased for $1 on an audible sale. I wish I had been MG age when these books first came out.

Male reader, delving into popular kids books...
It was a cute story and Elle Fanning did a great job with this reading. I felt like she was one of the characters "babysitting" me at times. Lol My only gripe is that I kinda wished that they kept the story exactly the same as it's original release from the older books. But the parts that were omitted from the story weren't at all vital to it. They were just pop culture references that were popular of that decade. If I hadn't read along with my 90s published paperback edition, I would have missed those nostalgic points. I was a kid of the 80s, so it was fun for me to relate to the author and it's characters in that way. This is also my first time reading this series.

Spooky BSC fun
When I was a child, I loved the Babysitters Club books. I devoured them. I read those, along with the Super Specials, Mysteries, Little Sister book, etc. In fact, I still have all of them to this day in paperback. They were such a big part of my love of reading, I could not part with them. So now that they have come out on Audiobook, I had to check them out. As it turns out, I am not too old to enjoy them. It kind of felt like going home again.
Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls is book 2 in the Baby-sitters Club series. In this book, there is a bit of mystery and some suspense. This is perfect as a Halloween read. There is a burglar that has been dubbed the Phantom Caller by authorities and the media. The burglar makes several calls to the houses he robs before he breaks in. Some of the BSC girls have started to receive calls while babysitting and no one is on the line. They have to figure out the best way to stay safe and what to do in case of an emergency.
This book is a quick listen and is only 2 hours and 50 minutes. The narrator was good. She is believable as a 12 year old girl.
I still love the nostalgia and am ready to listen to book 3!

A good Halloween listen.
Claudia was my favorite member of the BSC. I identified with her the most as a girl because we both loved art, junk food, and were not very good spellers.
This was a fun and nostalgic listen for October. It is set around Halloween and any of the scenes where the girls were baby sitting and the house was making noises were creepy-comedic.
The end though, I didn't like (and I had forgotten) that the caller was a boy from school who liked Kristy. It was a bad lesson for to reward his bad behavior. On some level you have to excuse the ending because it was written in 1986. It would never be written that way today because now we know better, or at least we should.
I did love how the girls made a plan for what to do if the actual burglar were to attack while they were baby-sitting, and I did love how smart Claudia was at the end when calling the police.
4 out of 5 Creepy House Noises.
