Publisher's Summary

As a former member of the United States Secret Service, I'm no stranger to putting my life on the line in the name of duty. Having left the nation's capital to re-settle in Pittsburgh, the skills I acquired during my tenure in Washington have made me a valued member of the team at Jameson Force Security. But when the president comes seeking a favor to protect his niece, I find myself on the fast track back to the Oval Office.

Simply put...she's beyond brilliant. A nationally renowned energy scientist, Barrett Alexander is on the verge of a breakthrough that will change the world. Unfortunately, that has also made her the target of a suspected terrorist cell. And while Barrett doesn't believe she's in any real danger, the president isn't willing to take chances with her life.

As the threats against Barrett become more calculated, I decide taking her on the run is her best chance of survival. Danger, isolation, and attraction ensure we grow closer than I'd ever thought possible. When I realize I want to keep her safe for reasons that have nothing to do with my job and everything to do with the woman I've fallen in love with, no one is safe from the hell I'll rain down on those that threaten her.

Action Filled Romance!

Lots of action and excitement in the newest addition to the Jameson Force Security series. Previous characters from the first book appear, but Code Name: Sentinel can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone.

I really enjoyed this protector/forced proximity romance featuring Cruce and Barrett. They had wonderful chemistry and I loved the build up and tension between them. When things finally boil over with them, it was H-O-T!! I could see many of the scenes playing out in my mind like a movie. Parts of the book were a little predictable and others resolved a little too easily, but it didn't diminish my enjoyment. The epilogue left me with a smile on my face and I'm excited to see that Saint's story is next!

Jason Clarke continues to be one of my very favorite male narrators! He was amazing as Cruce and really embodied the over protective alpha hero so well. I love his range, switching from playful to serious, and also tackling both male and female voices perfectly. Even his British accent as Kynan had me swooning. Lucy Rivers' performance as Barrett unfortunately fell a little flat for me. I have listened to other titles narrated by her, but this time it just didn't work. I found her voice too monotone and her male and female voices were almost the same. When I read the ebook I loved Barrett (even if she does sometimes make some questionable decisions), but I just couldn't get on board with her chapters in the audiobook. Still a compelling and action filled listen, but I enjoyed Cruce's chapters much more.

My dream man is even dreamier with that voice.

At the very basics this is a bodyguard romance novel with sexy times thrown in. However there is just so much more to this!!! Lots of intrigue, even involving the president. I loved that Barrett was smart and sexy. Perfect heroine! Cruce is the perfect alpha male who can still express his inner voice. I loved that we got to hear both sides of the story.

Side note: I got the audio of this and it was amazing. That voice of Cruce.... just made my dream man even more dreamier! Definitely give it a shot!

A Bodyguard Romance

Cruce Britton epitomizes the qualities of a sentinel, which makes his new assignment - to protect the President’s niece - something that should come easy to him…it’s clear that he’s damn good at putting himself on the line for those who need his protection, but his latest assignment, not only puts his skills to the test, but his will power and his professionalism as well, because while Cruce has always been focused on his career and making as little attachments as necessary, there’s just something about Barrett Alexander, and the fact that he’s protecting her as a personal favor to the President of the United States makes things messy, complicated, and potentially the biggest job and risk of his life.

I enjoyed the fact that Sawyer Bennett created a unique situation to bring Cruce and Barrett together. The reason for the threat against Barrett definitely fits contemporary society because her research as a renowned energy scientist is life altering for the world, so it makes sense that someone would want to steal her work and use it for their own benefit.

Cruce’s refusal to be distracted by feelings for the person he’s protecting logically makes sense, but there’s nothing logical about feelings - they’re messy, they’re overwhelming, and they amp up any situation, and this is exactly what happens the more time he spends with Barrett and the deeper his feelings for the woman he vowed to protect.

Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers narrate Cruce and Barrett’s, allowing their perspectives to hold all of the characters’ emotions, exuding the push and pull between them as well as the ups and downs that occur as Cruce works to keep Barrett safe while their feelings for each other make everything a bit more difficult. I absolutely loved how Clarke brought Cruce’s character to life; it was sexy, sultry, and seductive, and just how I pictured Cruce’s voice.

I love a good bodyguard romance - they seem to have a perfect blend of suspense, steam, and drama, and Sawyer Bennett’s Code Name: Sentinel definitely fit the bill.

Another perfect addition to the series!

Code Name: Sentinel is the second book in the Jameson Force Security series by the talented and fabulous Sawyer Bennett. I have read every book of Sawyer's and she never disappoints with the sexiness, humor, foreplay, suspense and lust.

Story:
We met Cruce in Code Name: Genesis and I've been thinking about him since! He's new to the team, but he quickly made friends and works well with the team. He used to be Secret Service and when he gets a call from the president, he doesn’t think twice, he'll do anything he asks. His niece is in danger and she needs protection. She's a brilliant scientist and she's working on a formula that will literally change the world. Cruce is just the man for the job, even if Barrett is sexy, nerdy and beautiful. He'd lay down his life for hers. When he takes her away, just the two of them, she becomes more than a job. She's a woman who he starts to fall for. Barrett isn't sure if it's the circumstances or the man, but she can't seem to stop looking at him. She loves that he makes her stop and enjoy life. But when the danger finds them, will they make it out alive? Will they realize their feelings are real and forever? I’m loving these Jameson Force guys! Cruce is fiercely loyal and takes his job seriously. If I were in trouble, I'd want him at my six. Or, you know, anywhere near me :). Overall, I loved Cruce and Barrett and thought their story was sexy and romantic! I loved the added suspense and seeing some favorites and meeting some new characters. I'm already looking forward to Code Name: Heist.

Audio: I'm a huge fan of Jason Clarke's. His voice always gives me tingles and I love that I never think of another character he's narrated. He was all Cruce. I liked Lucy's voice as the female characters, but I didn't like the voice she used for the men. It just sounded off and weird to me.

Another great addition to the series!

I'm a huge fan of Ms. Bennett’s Wicked Horse series by I have to admit that the Jameson Force Security guys are growing on me fast. There is guaranteed action and intrigue in these pages! While this book could be read as a standalone, you don’t want to miss out what happened in book one, so my advice is to start from the beginning.

Cruce, a former Secret Service agent is now with Jameson Force Security but when a message comes in from the president he knows things are about to get complicated.

The President has reached out on behalf of his niece, Barrett, who is a brilliant scientist and is working on a secret formula that could affect many lives. He asks for their help to get to the bottom of the threat and protect her life.

I loved the entire story, the intrigue and the action, and also the connection between Barrett and Cruce.

Audio review: The audio book was well done and truly brought the story to life.

Another Big Winner from Sawyer Bennett!!

Jameson Force Security’s Cruce Britton has some serious background experience, as he comes from Washington D.C. as a former Secret Service Agent to the former Vice President (now President) himself. He left Washington to work for Kynan in the private sector, at Jameson Security’s Pittsburgh Office. He gets an unexpected phone call from President Alexander, who is worried for his niece’s (Barrett’s) safety. Barrett Alexander works for The Praemium Group and is right on the cusp of discovering the formula for Fusion Energy, which could provide the world with clean, efficient energy. The President has caught wind of some vague intel, which mentions Barrett’s name & her research, but not enough to warrant a full military or intelligence investigation. President Alexander asks Cruce to take on the role of Bodyguard for Barrett, while the other members at Jameson will dig in to see if this threat is legit. Cruce can’t say no to him, as he has amazing respect for the President, so of course he says yes.

Barrett is the quintessential scientist, who’s whole life has been nothing but schools, degrees and her work. She lives, sleeps, eats & breathes her Research to the point of being anti-social. She thrives on routines & independence, so when her Uncle shows up at her house for dinner with 2 men (Kynan & Cruce) and 2 Secret Service Agents, she knows something’s up. Shocked to find out the reason he’s come is because it’s about her & not her Uncle, Barrett is definitely less than thrilled that these people will be intruding in her life to provide her with additional security she feels is unwarranted.

From here, the story takes off as Cruce and the Jameson Team try & keep Barrett from getting kidnapped, while also trying to discover who exactly is behind the threat to get hold of Barrett’s work before the U.S. can claim it.

This book was Ah-Mazing! Sawyer does a fantastic job of dealing with the intricacies of government agencies with power & money who think they can do whatever they want, while watching the relationship between Cruce & Barrett slowly begin to develop. It was really sweet to watch! I was cheering for them through the whole story!

Jason Clarke & Lucy Rivers really did a great job narrating this story. I felt they brought out the emotions of Cruce & Barrett really well. I especially loved how easily Jason flipped into Kynan’s British accent whenever Kynan was speaking. This book is just a wonderful experience on every level!!

Grrrrr

Wow. What an amazing story. It is unusual for the female lead to go through physical torture, but that is what happened here. Cruce went through mental anguish, but Barrett had to suffer the physical consequences. My only criticism was we didn't see the mental/emotional fallout from the physical abuse. But that could be a book all by itself.

Being related to the president and a brainiac are tough jobs. Barrett has always felt removed from the dangers, but now danger is her middle name. She doesn't know how to have fun and relax, but Cruce will make sure she learns. Cruce is good for her. He loosens her up and yet challenges her. Barrett makes him want more out of life than he thought was possible for him. Everyone else can see they are in love, but they are denying it. Until ...

I am enjoying this series so far. I'm looking forward to the next book to see who falls, for whom and what kind of trouble or danger they get into. Bring on more Jameson Force Security.

Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers did a fabulous job on this book. I love his growly voice and her seeetness. It was so fitting for the characters.

Intriguing

The story is very interesting and pulled me right in. Cruce is strong, smart and helps Barrett out of her comfort zone. Barrett and Curce work nicely together. Very good story.

Right on Target

Gawwwww is there anything better than a HOT bodyguard?
Not really, expect when that hot bodyguard has Jason Clarke's voice then ALL bets are off!
That's why you should listen to this story because Cruce is sexy and hot anddddddddddddd a bodyguard (I mean its more complicated then that but you get my point) anyway there are hot peeps, an island, cold fusion, and action all up in this story. I love the guys and gal at Jameson Force and now I am wanting more!
Cruce and Barrett have major chemistry and its hot and steamy and who wouldn't fall in love with someone who's main job is to keep you safe? I mean you had me at bodyguard!
Lucy Rivers does an amazing job of making me feel how much Barrett loves her job, her country, and Cruce...
Jason and Lucy made this audio for me.
