Publisher's Summary

What can history's greatest breakthroughs in science and technology teach us about the future?

New Thinking: The world has never been so unstable. Now, more than ever, we need to understand our history, learn from our mistakes, and embrace science and technology as we push into the future. In his debut book, New Thinking: The Technology and Science That Transformed Our World, Dagogo Altraide of YouTube's ColdFusion breaks down the history of gamechanger breakthroughs in the world of science and technology that have shaped our modern world and will impact the future.

Disruptive technology and innovation: The Industrial Revolution was the most significant event in human history since the domestication of animals and plants, leading to 50 years of growth and development making the western world almost unrecognizable. Today another revolution is taking place, and at its core is disruptive technology and innovation. It's clear that the pace of technology is increasing rapidly, and in the past 100 years, there has been more change due to disruptive technology than we could have ever imagined. The pace of this disruptive technology revolution is swift, almost exponential, but what's the story behind it? What were those special moments in time that changed the future forever?

From the steam engine revolution to the electric world of Tesla, the first photograph to the invention of the internet, this book explores the hidden secrets of science and technology to help us understand each gamechanger that has shaped the future.

In New Thinking: The Technology and Science That Transformed Our World, you will delight in learning about and appreciate:

  • How a technology can spawn a new technology and how they influence each other
  • How our modern world came to be
  • Our incredible modern world and potential for the future

It's awesome for someone who is interested on how the modern world we live in today came into existence and what caused it to take it's shape and form.

Good book, but almost too inclusive.

The reader is very good. He sounds like he should narrate How It's Made.
The history of WW1 felt unnecessary, at least in such detail. Its relevance wasn't really apparent.
The history of Volkswagen is a little drab. So, the company got big. So what? What did that really change? And what does Hitler have to do with new thinking, especially as it applies to the advancement of technology? That wasn't really made apparent either.
I appreciate the inclusion of AR/VR and 3D printers. I believe they are the future. I've believed it for many years now.
As someone who studied theoretical physics for three years, I can say that the part about the quantum is wrong. I mean, what the author said is very mainstream, but I don't believe it's true or that it'll ever result in anything. Plus, Feynman is overrated. He'll fade into obscurity once it comes out that most of the mainstream interpretations of quantum mechanics are wrong.
Anyway, it was a good book. I enjoyed it, and it gave me something to talk about.

Impressos e!

I loved it. Both book and narrator are excelent!!! It really made me want to be part of this history, as a "new thinker". I'm glad to live nowadays and to have the chance of seeing and using those things. Thank you for the book! What an experience! I loved that you seemed to know exactly everything you would write, because everytime that's a note like "we will discuss this later", and I imagine how hardware was that. Also, the book os extremely comprehensible. I didn't know anything about those technologies, however, this wasn't a problem. I've learned a lot! Thank you again!!!

The best history / science book I've read or listened to in years. A Great Read!
I view the Cold Fusion You Tube Channel and downloaded the book as a curiosity. I am so glad I did and will be sending it to my children and teenage grandchildren. I feel this is a must read or listen to book for all.

Outstanding

I've been a huge fan of Dagogo's Coldfusion YouTube channel for sometime now and when I heard that his book was available as an audiobook, I jumped at the opportunity to listen to it. It is a great summary of world history with regards to innovation and the new thinkers throughout the years. It was easy to follow and touched on all the big innovations that contributed to where we are today. I would highly recommend this book.

Good for night table audiobook, could be much deep

it was good, really easy to follow, sometimes I felt it covers too many things in a really shallow depth, but it's ok, if you take it as what it tries to be, it's good. most likely in 20 years this will make a good summary of technology evolution and the thinking behind it
