Publisher's Summary

Peter Darwin was hoping for some quiet leave from the Foreign Office. Instead he found himself in the village of his childhood, at the service of a veterinary surgeon whose operating theater was rapidly acquiring an unwanted reputation as an abattoir. The sudden unexplained death of a string of valuable racehorses from one small area in Gloucestershire was a mystery the police couldn't solve. But Darwin was local. He remembered people and what was at stake. And now he knew enough to get himself killed.

Horses that dies

As many others I believed that horses and novell's about them were mainly for girls. But this book is definetly not. It can of course be read by them, but not solely by them. Well, now to the book.

The book is a mystery-novell, in a british veterinary-clinic. Horses are dying on the table and a young veterinarian is being blamed for it. Now it is all up to Peter Darwin, an employe with the foreign-office. to help his new friend in uncover the mystery. As he gets deeper into the mystery, he finds out that it is not acidentially, but intentionally. Someone wants the clinic to close down. But who is it and why. Danger comes closer as does the answer to the riddle.

The book is exiting and well written. You get drawn into the world of horses and murder. The carecters are interesting, and the dept of them is very good. you are hooked from ten minutes in and all the way to the end.
