À propos de cet audio

Five years ago, Harbor Wilson walked away from 137 Briarfield Lane, the place she'd once called home, with no intention of ever returning. Oh, how plans change. A phone call. A bit of pleading. And a promise to return home for just one week. Just one.

That's all it took for Harbor to return to a place that harbored, every pun intended, all her emotional baggage. If she can get through this week of surprises without breaking down in a torrent of tears when the past demands to have its say, that will be a miracle. Harbor only hopes God is still in the miracle-working business. If not, all bets are off.

The narrator was very awkward to listen to. Paused in odd spots; poor flow of words; strange intonations even for a supposedly southern US accent. Just not easy to listen to without me constantly wanting to correct her. The story itself was almost as awkward. Lacking in character, and plot depth and development, as well as outright bad phrasing and even grammar errors in some instances. The source of the conflict between the protagonist daughter and her mother was not clearly defined to start with, and then resolved in rather short order. The language of the main character and her sister, though young adults, was often very adolescent, and also conversations in general were shallow and lacking interest, in my opinion. I just wanted the book to be done! I won’t be listening to others in this series.

Mediocre at best
