Publisher's Summary

Contains books 3 and 4 of Condemning the Heavens.

Stars Are Falling, book 3

In the continent of Chang'an, humans had lived as livestock and slaves to the primordial beasts. These beasts were ferocious, bloodthirsty, and overwhelmingly powerful, but even so, the humans managed to prevail in the face of despair. As the human race grew stronger the primordial beasts fought back with relentless fierceness, rousing beast hordes to engage in frenzied battles over the land. Every single child on the continent was taught martial arts for the sake of fighting these primordial beasts, yet many of them were sent straight to their death.

In this world filled with constant battle, a young boy was born. This young boy was hoping to become the most outstanding cultivator, but who would have thought that his talent was so poor that he could not even cultivate? As the boy was filled with despair over his unfortunate situation, a life-changing event occurred which would forever leave a scar in his mind, pushing him to transcend his limits and grow to become a legend.

Tears of the Soaring Dragon, book 4

Parting with Jiang Fengmian and the Vermilion Forest Kingdom, Xue Wei and Hei Gou continue their journey towards the center of the continent. On their way, they encounter the Black Iron Fortress, an imposing citadel hosting a high-stakes tournament which could change their lives - or end it. Allured by the chance to grow stronger and gain precious resources, both man and beast halt their march towards the center of the continent to participate in the deadly tournament. But just who is behind it all?

Mortal danger, hidden treasure, and a bittersweet reunion await Xue Wei and Hei Guo in the Skyward Empire as secrets start to unravel and the truth is laid bare for all to see.

gonna need 5 and 6 soon bruh

wow was that a good listen. Performance and story are great! I gave it a 4 star over all because there was alot of, "and his bloody body was bloody and dead and covered in blood" type sentences. other than that I loved it.

good story

im going through this book fast and its good i don't like the fact that he has had multiple chances to cultivate with his new items that he got from the ring and the auction theres basically no reason for him to have them also whats the marital arts skills for if they aren't even gonna name them and he's not gonna tell us what they do idk but i thought the last 3 hours were really stupid he could have reached a higher ranking if he actually stopped playing around and cultivated then after 7 months he's just gonna get up fine and no training just "luts go to the capital" but im jumping into 5 in 6 maybe he will actually get some better skills

addictive mess

Let’s start with the bad...
Character dialogue is poor
MC has no/very few redeeming qualities - kill and/or rob everyone for ....reasons.
Words and lines are repeated, constantly
Narration is poor. One of the voices sounded like John Wayne and I’m pretty sure Rob Ruggle narrated some of it. Basically it’s not a speech pattern i would associate with wuxia/xianxia.

The good
Call it a guilty pleasure but i found the story to be addicting. I believe it’s because the MC feels no remorse for anything. Would I recommend it? Probably but I would absolutely feel the need to share my complete impression vs just saying yes.
MC is OP so there is never any pressure or stress listening to the story. I don’t usually like this but it does make for a relaxing listening experience.

Always Running

It's getting annoying. They're always running away from everything. Run from bullies, run from bullies dads, run from city, run back to city, run back out of city, run run run. It's becoming such an overused trope.

Continues to be a good read, even if a bit bloody

I waited awhile to pick up this second “set” because of the casual amount of violence and bloody descriptions. However, I have liked the characters so much that I wanted to see what happened to them, so I recently purchased it and loved getting reacquainted with the main character and was immediately attached to most of the new characters.
Good Read. On to the next one…

a great sequel

This second pack was so good, it improves and expands on the original quite a lot. new characters, new location, more emotions, what's not to love. The end was so emotional and devastating that it made me want to find out what happens, although i don't think we get to see the ramifications until later in the story.
Narration is good, some name issues as in the past, hope it will be done better in the future, but other than that a great job.
