These beasts were ferocious, bloodthirsty, and overwhelmingly powerful, but even so, the humans managed to prevail in the face of despair. As the human race grew stronger the Primordial Beasts fought back with relentless fierceness, rousing beast hordes to engage in frenzied battles over the land. Every single child on the continent was taught martial arts for the sake of fighting these Primordial Beasts.

Life for Cha Ming is a daily grind. A rat race where people don’t make any real decisions. When he asks the universe for something more, fate itself answers his prayer. A talisman brush older than time itself sends him to another world, where magic, fortune, and danger await. Now, the world is at his fingertips. He has a new life, a new body, and can wield the five elements. It’s too bad his new home is a place where might makes right, and immortal cultivators and demons fight at the drop of a hat. Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate. Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication.

Mage Errant: Publisher's Pack contains books one and two of the Mage Errant series: Into the Labyrinth and Jewel of the Endless Erg. Hugh of Emblin is, so far as he's concerned, the worst student that the Academy at Skyhold has ever seen. He can barely cast any spells at all, and those he does cast tend to fail explosively.

keeps restating the same info and phrases.
I listen to the first couple books because the story was interesting, but the writer keeps restating the same info and phrases over and over and over again its really annoying. If you cut everything out that wasn't needed to be re-explained you could probably cut the book in half and it would flow together alot better.

Meh, the details just can't be ignored by book 5
TLDR; Odd & forced character interactions, bad dialogue, only minor story progression since the start, and just an OP MC who is arrogant but really has no reason to be.
So this whole series has a basic xianxia/wuxia premise which i like so I gave it a shot, but while it started out okay the more you read the more often you noticed how forced some of the character interactions are. Okay yeah I managed to just ignore the unreasonable bad guys because they weren't really important, then the stupid one true love at first sight came up and I ignored that, I was almost happy when they split up because that might be an interesting character conflict but nope he says he'll just make her understand and she will which will be absurd. His newest friend he meets in book 5 just joins there isn't any character interaction to show thier budding friendship, they just gloss over it and after a months long journey that takes a chapter they're friends.
Minor Spoilers Ahead - Then he goes to a new continent where everyone is racist but most are nice to him even though he's the kind of guy they'd be racist to, the king which is a woman for some reason (just call her the queen) is just immediately accommodating cause "we need your help traveler, solve a mystery no one for hundreds of years could, but do it within two years, oh and you can ask me for anything, just come to the palace whenever." Worst of all and almost as bad as the cringey forced romance from book 2 or 3 is the little girl, so this is exactly how it happens he sneaks into somewhere off limits and sees a house, he grins like a mad man creeping out his friends and then they go inside, there is a little girl who has been here thousands of years, but she's not an adult, or wise, or even completely insane, she's just a cute little kid who apparently has enough power to help the entire continent grow in power by having her energy leeched. He immediately thinks she cute and wants to be her big brother, I could understand helping her because its terrible she's been here so long, or because you think she'd be happier out side, but he just did it cause she's cute. Then he dotes on her again and again as she refers to herself in third persons and acts like a child, though she is thousands of years old, she serves no narrative purpose aside from breaking another thing in the story, just at this point you can't ignore the how bad all the dialogue and how unnatural the character interactions are when we've only gotten the barest bit of story progression since book 1.

poorly written
this book is a big step down from previous books, I don't mean the story exactly, though there is that too. no I mean that there is constant mistakes in this book, its almost like it was a first or second draft.
mistakes, plotlines that went nowhere and were forgotten, the same explainations for things given multiple times in the same chapter like the author forgot they already explained that, multiple examples of "chekhov's gun.
but having said that, it was still fun.
