Excellent for our kids to understand the pandemic
I listened together with my 9 years old boy. He enjoyed it a lot and I realized he had lots of questions about the pandemic. We paused and talked about them. The book explains beautifully every aspect of the times we are living. I really recommend it.

facts over fear
My son who is on the autism spectrum is very worried about getting sick. He learns best from social stories, but I have had trouble finding a good book about it. Most talk down to the kids or oversimplify it. Others end up being a little ableist which is a problem for an autistic kid with a wheelchair user mommy. This did a great job of explaining viruses in general, antibodies, social distancing, and the importance of vaccines. It does explaining that healthy people are likely to recover, but it's important for them to do their part to protect the more vulnerable people. It doesn't gloss over the mental and emotional struggles of staying at home, but again, it gives them ideas on how to help instead of making them feel powerless. It warms my cold, black heart that this was made for and available for free. We will get through this, but we need to work together.

Air Hugs for this book
Great book that explains what is going on in the world with the current pandemic. The book breaks down germs, vaccines, those affected, why schools are closed, why kids aren't able to see family members, what they can do to protect themselves, help around the house and talk to parents if they are feeling sad. Our 3 yr old and 6 yr old both listened intently and were able to share what they learned.

Timely
Easily understood language, good for the audience it was intended (though the final exclamatory sentence at the end was a bit too much).
