Fans of Gossip Girl and Cruel Intensions will like this book series. Natalie is an aspiring author working towards her big break and house-sitting for the rich and famous. While house-sitting in the Hamptons, she runs into an ex, not only her ex but her first, whom she gave her V-card to before he ghosted her. Penn and his "Crew" arrived, not realizing that his mother had hired a house-sitter for the cottage in the Hamptons, and Natalie has captured all their interests with their impromptu meeting.

Some of the storyline was typical of these YA-type movies & books, so there was nothing that was overly shocking, but there is enough interest there to see where the series goes with the next book after the cliffhanger ending. I am giving a rating of 3.5 / 5 Stars.

Lots of drama and mistrust between the main characters. The drama keeps you reading but no HEA, must read next book(s) to find out what happens.

Cruel Money was an enjoyable story with incredible narration. Stephen Dexter and Virginia Rose shine! A bet, a simple bet between friends, the ultimate betrayal. I am hooked and excited to listen to the continuing saga of Natalie and Pen. Is love more powerful than money? I am on my way to find out……
