Publisher's Summary

Follow God's process for growth and learn how you can benefit from life's challenging experiences with this audiobook by best-selling inspirational author T.D. Jakes.

In this insightful audiobook, number one New York Times best-selling author T.D. Jakes wrestles with the age-old questions: Why do the righteous suffer? Where is God in all the injustice?

In his most personal offering yet, Bishop Jakes tells crushing stories from his own journey - the painful experience of learning his young teenage daughter was pregnant, the agony of watching his mother succumb to Alzheimer's, and the shock and helplessness he felt when his son had a heart attack.

Bishop Jakes wants to encourage you that God uses difficult, crushing experiences to prepare you for unexpected blessings. If you are faithful through suffering, you will be surprised by God's joy, comforted by his peace, and fulfilled with his purpose.

Crushing will inspire you to have hope, even in your most difficult moments. If you trust in God and lean on him during setbacks, he will lead you through.

Not so good

The book is not a true reflection of the great mind that is Bishop Jakes. Perhaps the least impressive of all his books that I have read. The reader wasn’t helping matters either. I struggled to finish reading and that has never happened when I read Bishop Jake’s books.

The narrator is emotionless

I have been anticipating this book for a while now, but was unimpressed by the narrator. This is a powerful book and the voice behind it needs to be powerful also. Instead I find that it is robotic sounding. Would have loved for Bishop Jakes to narrate! I hope that in the future there is better audio options because the voice is just lifeless. Other than that AMAZING BOOK SO FAR !

Absolutely Needed!

I saw Bishop talking about this book in TBN, and I put it in the cart as I was still reading Forward by Dr David Jeremiah. I was reading Forward in February 2022 right in the midst of my crushing season. I just bought and listened to this book after Jan/Feb my most challenging months and I am happy I did not listen to it at the time of my crushing as I would have shifted my eyes from trusting God and believing in Him fully to looking for answers and guidance from the book Listening to this was like the man of God had sat down and interviewed me and was writing my experiences, so relevant! .

It was confirming everything I just went through. This book will be read and understood by those going through the Wilderness season with God! The Wilderness season is the most isolating and personal walk with God. There were times in the past couple of months where I didnt know whether I was just burnt out from work, or spiritually fatigued or just plain depressed, however, I never stopped praying, I hung on so tight, because I realized there was nothing to go back to! During that time I never wasted my tears, anytime I cried I was crying to God just asking Him for the grace to move from one day to another. Its a wonder how a day can make such a difference ! It was hard but I had the grace to keep on going, listening to the word everyday, reading books, feeding myself with Godly content and still is..

Several times I found myself praying and thanking God that I was single and going through the painful process alone. I even told some of friends that this walk of faith was making me feel like I was bipolar! There were times my faith was at the peak of the mountain, and sometimes I was overwhelmed with doubt wondering if God can actually do it for me or if the promise I had heard Him whisper, dreamt of and seen its visions was all in my mind.

Looking back now, I see that the Master was at work ripping off everything to stretch my trust in Him, and again and again I say Yes Lord!

TD Jakes God Bless you man of God! The Lord has mightily used you to feed me the word daily during this isolating and season and we are still moving!

A much needed message

A perfect timing for a much needed message. I struggled with many aspects of returning to Christ and walking in God's purpose for me but this book had a clear explanation on many of my questions and redirected my attention back God Almighty.

The Voice

The content is excellent but it is not Bishop Jake's voice. His voice is anointed and without it, the narrative is hard to feel and follow. I am very disappointed in the fact that it is a different voice. It felt like a boring lecture instead of a sermonic story.

great read

The grape doesn't understand the vine... it just rests in it... That was worth the whole book right there💯

Here's one more... The vintage is only as good as the wait... #boom.

Ok, last one... I've seen a lot of people in the world I've admired, but nobody I'd rather emulate because..., they have no wine...👀

That last one wasn't in the book (actually, it was in his sermon "Marriage at Cana" preceding the release)... BUT IT SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE BOOK BISHOP😂. Great Job👍👍👍👍👍

Disappointed

I was really looking forward to hearing TD Jakes voice. The reader does not have the same power that connects to the inner man as Bishop Jakes.

The crushing is not the end!

What an amazing spirit filled book! It is not a coincidence that I was able to listen to the audio version of this book while going through this very season. Everything about this book gave me clarity to understanding the season I’m in and peace to my spirit. Bishop Jakes- you will never know the impact you’ve had on my life through the sermons you’ve preached and the books I’ve read that you’ve written. Thank you for answering the call and teaching me how to get through the valleys of my journey. My hope has been renewed!!

Wrong Narrator

I couldn't finish it because the voice didn't match the image of Bishop Jake's in my head telling the story.

Eye opener of different perspective

Many time during a crushing I thought I am going through a punishment but Bishop show that the crushing is to make me a better person so that I can then be a choicest wine to show the goodness of God through my difficult times! Thank you Bishop!

Great book, poor naration

This is very inspirational, however the narrator does not do this book justice. It would have been amazing if TD Jakes himself narrated the book.

Encouragement in the Time of Need

I pre-ordered this book and started listening to it first thing this morning. I'm already grateful that I did. It's empathetic and encouraging. I'm so thankful Bishop Jake's wrote it because I really needed it, and I needed it right now.
