Publisher's Summary

Cthulhu Armageddon is the story of a world 100 years past the rise of the Old Ones which has been reduced to a giant monster-filled desert and pockets of human survivors (along with Deep Ones, ghouls, and other "talking" monsters).

John Henry Booth is a ranger of one of the largest remaining city-states when he's exiled for his group's massacre and the suspicion that he's "tainted". Escaping with a doctor who killed her husband, John travels across the Earth's blasted alien ruins to seek the life of the man who killed his friends.

It's the one thing he has left.

Mad Max meets Cthulu at the Dark Tower

Having already enjoyed Phipps' Supervillainy Saga, I was intrigued by the concept of Cthulu Armageddon. It combines two of my favourite themes in fiction: Cthulu and post-apocalypse. It did not disappoint! Some of the characters were pretty cool. Kafer did a terrific job, as always, of narrating.
The story itself, while far from original, is well told. Humourous in places and dark and disturbing in nearly equal measures. I am looking forward to volume 2!

Nonsensical.

It is a shame that some writers cram their books with everything but the kitchen sink instead of developing a cohesive plot that features compelling characters and an intriguing tale. In this case, the continuity is so confusing I questioned whether the chapters were out of sync. All in all, the book is jam-packed with creatures but what's the point if the characters are flat and the plot unfocussed? I give credit, however, to Jeffrey Kafer who did his best to narrate this nonsensical story.
