The writing is very good. Author managed to avoid pretty much all the janky translated terms of Xianxia genre, except fo character's names, and it made the story easy to listen to in English. The plot itself is pretty interesting and characters are fun.

However, I feel like MC doesn't live up to the book's title. A nerd suppose to be a highly intelligent but socialy akward individual that has a passion for some field of knowledge. While MC does display a interest in the mechanics of cultivation, he never had the time to act on it. I would describe him as having more common sense, deligent with a training routine, and pretty smooth in social settings - pretty much a model disciple rather than a nerd.
