Story
Two hundred years ago, aliens invaded Earth. A violent war followed. The enemy won. Some of us escaped, most of us didn’t. On Proxima they flourished - the invasion forgotten. On Earth we floundered - the horror began. Their world is advanced, peaceful, and secure. Our world is broken, savage, and overrun. A new invasion is coming. A hunger that has swallowed half the universe. They don’t care which planet we live on. They want to end us all. But where there is life, there is hope. And where there is hope, there are heroes. This time, vengeance will be ours.

Udo's biggest problem isn't being a digger (that's low class), or staying drunk (that's damn expensive), or avoiding the Dwergaz (they're monsters), or even pissing off the supposed Gods. It's that his reality...well, it isn't what he thought. And now, he can't even afford to drink because his so-called friend Nicz is cutting into his business, digging up tin, iron, and copper. So Udo forms a new plan: clay. After all, clay jars are used to store everything: meat, herbs, and, his personal favorite, ale.

Thousands of planes are stranded in the air as Mike discovers that his wife Lauren took an overnight flight from China to Washington that morning. With satellites falling from the sky and rolling blackouts sweeping the nation, Mike must fight his way across the country in a desperate race to save his family.
But this is only the beginning as the shocking truth comes out, in a new generation of warfare that will forever change the world....

Boring
Ok, let me see if I got it after you telling me a few hundred times in this book. YOU WROTE ANOTHER BOOK ABOUT A CATASTROPHE BEFORE THIS ONE. I also understand you, as a writer, have more liberal views and news channels and others have conservative views and news channels. I just don’t have a clue why as a writer you wanted us to know your views and take us away from the story you are telling. Leave all that out and make it a lot less boring and we have a good book. But we didn’t leave it out or make unboring and it’s not a good book so let’s return it.

like listening to a cookbook...
RC Bray is amazing, always.
I was excited based on the topic but this experience is like listening to recipes read from a cookbook. No tension and no plot. Kept listening hoping it would get better. it did not.
one ingredient after another and you know what dish you will have at the end. gonna exchange this book cuz it is a waste of a credit.
skip this and brush your teeth, it will be more fun.

Almost unreadable
As always, Bray did an outstanding job. If only the same could be said for the author. The premise of the story had so much potential, however the plot is mind numbingly predictable, with no character development or archs, and the protagonist is written off as a dolt within the first two chapters. Even with Bray's narration, it was a struggle to finish and I could only do so while mostly focusing on other things with it running in the background.

Disappointed
I had read “Polar Vortex” prior to this and it was really good. The “redeeming qualities “ of militias ; Fox News is the truth ; Evangelical Christianity is the answer and Muslims are always the culprit that the author seems to espouse took me by surprise. I realize that in this genre it can be difficult to weed out the insipid pro white power, racist , xenophobic themes . I guess it just disappointed me to be let so far down after the first novel. Don’t get me wrong , this title has a decent story, if you’re not needled by the aforementioned .
The authors seeming attempt to make militias anything but what they are , racist , anarchistic , paranoid hate mongers was again , also disappointing. The character of “Chuck “ was annoying and almost unbearably arrogant in the way that group always is.

Mather and Bray, what couldn’t be awesome?
Neal Stephenson and Tom Clancy get locked in a room, and due to boredom and general awesomeness, they make a baby. That baby would be Cyberspace. Now have that baby speak with RC Bray’s voice, and that ridiculousness (besides being terrifying) is a fantastic and tightly written book.
Best thing I’ve heard in a while.

Scarier With Everything That's Currently Going On
4.5 out of 5 stars
I was scrolling through Audible's new releases and all of a sudden I saw the cover for CyberSpace - I was instantly sold. Then I saw who was narrating it and I was the Fry from Futurama meme "Take my money". I realized as I started it that it was a continuation of another story I have from Mather (that, for some reason I never read). But there is enough back story and flashback scenes that you don't need to read that to understand this one.
CyberSpace was an interesting story to read when the world is on the brink - there are some things that are talked about in this that feel like they were just plucked out of the headlines and put into the book (but from the future). Mather is great at doing that and has been adding realistic elements to his novels for years.
The main characters of this story already had backstories but Mather did a good job describing who they were and why they reacted the way that they did to certain things. Each person had their own issues and their own things that didn't sit right in the pits of their stomachs and Mather did a great job showing us why.
The overall story arc was really enjoyable and had a good ending but also a good leap-off point for the next book. It cleans everything up that this specific book covered but leaves the door open for more craziness.
Overall, CyberSpace was a really enjoyable book with great narration by R.C. Bray. I flew through this and it made me want to go back and read the other books that were related to this one. Also of note, there were a couple plot points in this one that reminded me of another Mather book that I finished recently, Polar Vortex. There were some parts related to flying over a certain area... thankfully in this book the outcome was slightly different. But at one point I was convinced that Mather was just weaving all of his stories into one universe.

Hard to get behind
As always Bray did a great job narrating no problems there. I had a hard time following the plot due to holes in the story. Though this is just my opinion and if the synopsis is to your liking then by all means dive right in. I was hoping for a more gritty story and edge of your seat twists. I had the ending halfway through the book.

Audio quality sub-par for R.C. Bray's normal work
Just started listening so this review doesn't reflect the story.
The audio quality of this recording is of considerably lower quality than any other work from RC Bray that I've listened to. Its soft and muddled.
Hopefully the author or narrator read this and can work on some improvements.

I loved it!
I had started reading the book then got the audio so I could listen to it while I was working. I couldn’t put it down! The first one, Cyber Storm, was the first book I had read by Matthew Mather. I’m hooked! I read all his other books and was so happy to see Cyber Space come out. I love the characters. He always keeps me on the edge of my seat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
