Publisher's Summary

"A story beautifully told, with richly drawn characters that will...make you want to laugh and cry" from the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Book of Lost Friends and Before We Were Yours.

All her life, Epiphany Salerno has been tossed like a dandelion seed on the wind. Now, at 16, she must move to the low-rent side of Blue Sky Hill and work where she's not wanted: in an upscale home on The Hill.

J. Norman Alvord's daughter has hired a teenager to stay with him in the afternoons. Widowed and suffering from heart trouble, Norman wants to be left alone. But in Epie's presence, Norman discovers a mystery. Deep in his mind lie memories of another house, another life, and a woman who saved him.

As summer comes to Blue Sky Hill, two residents from different worlds will journey through a turbulent past, and find that with an unexpected road trip through sleepy Southern towns comes life-changing friendship...and clues to a family secret hidden for a lifetime.

Incredibly Emotional

For anyone with elderly parents. The first chapter helped me understand what my parents went through before they died. And the rest of the book gave me hope at a time when I question my own purpose in life.

Story great - narrator not so much

Before We Were Yours was my first Lisa Wingate novel and totally out of my usual genre. One of the best books I have "read". Dandelion Summer story is also very good. It took awhile to get used to the narrators. Thee were two - one for the male lead and one for the female. The male was a little flat and the female was overly accented. I have come to include Lisa Wingate in my favorite author list. Don't be turned off in the first pages by the narrators. It is worth the read.

I loved this book!

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Lisa Wingate’s novels but this might be my most favorite. I felt Ms Wingate brought so many threads together which elevated the novel to a incredibly high level but more than anything else, it touched my heart more deeply than any novel generally does.

A good read, but fell flat!

I was hoping we would get insight into the other characters from the series. Disappointing.

Lisa's Best

Everything about this book is done so well. The narrators were perfect for their roles, the characters come alive and could easily be imagined. Epiphany's strength, feisty determined attitude, added another enjoyable layer to the story. I was very moved by J. Norman's insights and resilience. Being a Texan. I felt this book to be very true to Dallas and the state. This is one of Lisa Wingate's best.
