I am a huge fan of Katee Roberts, but I wasn’t into this book as I’ve been with her Olympian Gods series. I found myself fast forwarding and leaving this book for a few days because I was bored with the plot.

The “hot” scenes were merely luke warm. And I just found the chemistry between the main characters lacking, not to mention the interactions between sun-characters.

Not what I expected

This is book 1 of the series and it sets up the feud and the characters from three families. The halloran's, the Sheridan's and the O'Malleys! When Branden Halloran is murdered the Halloran's are out for revenge. Calista Sheridan was to be wed to him, but since he is dead a rival family, the O'Malleys offer Tegan to be married with Calista. The Hallorans family call out for war as a retribution for this act. What starts as a meeting for an arranged marriage quickly turns into a lust filled relationship between Calista and Tegan but both are leaders of their own families and are enthralled in this war. The story is full of action, betrayals, secrets and hope, grief and love. It is clear the siblings will each get their story told. This book doesn't end in a cliffhanger, but the conflict between the families is not resolved. I loved the Boston accent the narrator gave to the characters!

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to dive into the O’Malleys series by Katee Robert!

This was so good and I will immediately be starting the next one in the series.
