the suspense and anticipation around the protagonists emotions is captivating. i am gripped waiting to see what he will do or how he will react. loved it all!

Wonderful and refreshing
The narrator did a great job depicting the emotions necessary for effectively telling a story, that was well written and captivating. I couldn’t stop once I started. This was a great find.

Unique take on a fantasy world
Usually you see the beastmen in stories as side characters or enemies but this book gives a different perspective on what the creatures and their society would be like.

Love it!!!
Such a great book. I love the story Valians rise as a leader, his bravery and valour. I hope there is more development with regards to Valian and Kyla’s love story. Loved this book.

Great read/listen
Looking forward to listening to book 2.
This book started strong, no waiting countless chapters before the action began, the journey started right away. I enjoyed this story. The growth in some of the characters and the fact that it doesn’t end with everything wrapped up and him never losing a battle. Fights were fought, not always easily won.

A good listen
I enjoyed this book as a background activity. It is a power fantasy type story, the twists are pretty predictable and the info dumping felt a bit jarring and unnecessary in a story that otherwise flow really well, but it gets much much better towards the end when there’s more action
