The Arizona Vengeance is killing it on the ice. But one player can’t seem to keep his eye on the puck - all thanks to the woman he just married to save her life.

“Find your next hockey hero in Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series.” (New York Times best-selling author Jill Shalvis)

My name is Dax Monahan, and hockey is my passion. And if you want to succeed in this sport you have to bust your ass 24/7. I’ve never had a hard time focusing on my career, but when my past comes knocking, no amount of training can prepare me for what lies on the other side of the door.

Regan Miles was always like a sister to me. When a shared tragedy brings us face to face after several years, I’m shocked to see just how much she’s changed. Gone is the shy, awkward little girl that always used to chase me and her brother around. Instead, I’m faced with a gorgeous woman who makes it damn hard to concentrate on anything but her.

Turns out, she’s in trouble, and the only way out is to get married.

I surprise myself when I tell her to marry me. Order her, actually. And, most shocking of all, she doesn’t even hesitate before saying yes.

So it’s settled. We’re getting hitched, and she’s moving to Arizona with me. All platonic, of course.

The catch?

I never knew I’d fall so hard for my best friend’s little sister.

Tied with Bishop for favourites

I started the Arizona Vengeance Series out of sequence. Dax & Regan's story is perhaps my favourite. I enjoyed the back story and that everything wasnt perfect. The narrators did a great job. this was an easy listen and would recommend it.

Best Story of 2019!

I LOVED THIS STORY! The narrators were fantastic for this story, I really enjoyed listening to them. I have listened to several audiobooks by both of them and they are great. This story was absolutely amazing. I was hooked from the very beginning after hearing that this is based on a real disease, and that the medication for this disease is accurate to the story. By the end of Chapter 1, I was listening as much as I could because Dax and Regan had an amazing story! The emotions and feelings they went through were so pure and raw, I could do nothing but fall in love with both of them. This is a must read or listen to story. If you have not listened to or read the other books in this series, that is ok, but it was great to have some backstory, and catch up on what was happening with the other Vengeance players! I finished listening earlier today and I cannot get this story out of my head. This is one that is going to stick with me!

Loved this book!!!

This is a fantastic series!!! Sawyer Benett knows how to pull you in and get you invested. Aiden Snow was the perfect Dax and Virginia Rose was fantastic too. This book showed how friendship can turn into something more. Having that one person who’s known you forever and is willing to do anything for you. It also has gotten me even more excited for the next two books in the series!!!

In Sickness and In Health

Dax is a sexy best friend's little sister/marriage of convenience romance. The story is book 4 in the series and runs along the same timeline as the previous book, Legend, but can be read/listened to as a stand alone. For maximum enjoyment though, I definitely recommend them since previous characters appear throughout the series. I really enjoyed the narration by Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose. Rose gave an emotional performance as Regan and really captured her vulnerability and pain. Snow's deep voice was perfect for Dax, but I did find it was too gruff for the female characters (which is understandable). There wasn't a ton of variation in his other characters as well, so there were a few times I wasn't sure which character was speaking at first. Dax and Regan had amazing chemistry and I really loved the progression of their friendship to more. They have known each other their whole lives and I think that added a sweetness to their connection that I don't always feel. Yes, there is push and pull between them as the lines get blurred, but I liked that there wasn't any unnecessary drama between them (or if there was, it was resolved quickly). I think what made this a less engaging listen for me, was that it felt like this book spent just as much time on Dax and Regan as it did setting up the next books in the series. Don't get me wrong - I can't wait to read/listen to Tacker (I just want to hug this man so much!!) and Dominik's (YUM with a capital Y!) stories, but I felt like it took away too much of the spotlight from Dax and Regan. I did love seeing all the previous couples (Erik and Blue!) and characters as well as getting to know Willow, Dax's sister and the likely love interest of team owner Dominik Carlson. An enjoyable listen overall and I'm excited to continue on with the series! Overall 4 stars Performance 4 stars Story 3.5 stars

Falling hard for the right one

Another Vengeance player falls hard, and falls for all the right reasons. Lance Miles was Dax Monahan's best friend and older brother to Regan. When circumstances require Dax to step in and help Regan out, he really steps up to the occasion. He not only finds a way to take care of Regan, but also finds love. However, their journey together includes big bumps and they learn to work out issues together. There's wit, humor, love, compassion, romance, and some hotness in Dax's story! Enjoy! In this Audible copy, there's a narrator for Dax and Regan's POV. Aiden's deep voice contributes to the sexy nature of Dax and Virginia's voice contributes to the sweet and innocent nature of Regan. Both of them did a great job! I love Dax's sister Willow and her impact to the story. Hopefully there will be more of her and Dominik. Also, there's more of the other Vengeance players, like Erik, Legend, and Bishop. At the end of Dax's story is the beginnings of Tacker's story!! I can't wait!

Dax and Regan

Emotionally beautiful, heartfelt, and sweet journey to go on with Dax and Regan. I enjoyed every single second of this book. Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose are absolutely perfect for these characters. I loved listening to them bring these charming characters to life.

Dax

I am really enjoying this series! I am in my groove. I think this might be my favorite book yet. Dax swoops in and become a knight in hockey armor. ;) See what I did there. Regan is a close friend and I love that she has Dax and his family in her life after she loses her brother the way she does. Then there is her health and I think what Dax does is pretty freaking great. I also totally love that they feel for each other in the likely of unlikely of ways. I mean you had to see it coming. Again I love that Sawyer doesn’t follow the romance rules because it keeps you listening. The narrators are 2 of my very favorites! The fact that each book is different makes the experience unique. Love it!

A Very Sweet Friends to Lovers Romance

I really enjoyed Dax and Regan's story. They've known each other since they were children and get married because Regan is sick. Can they become a real couple?

Love this series!

I’m loving this series. I had to give this one a 4 instead of a 5 because the female narrator sounded a lot older than 22 to me. It just felt off. I like Auden Snow a lot. I really like the storylines and side characters and can’t wait to see whats going to happen with them!!! I’ve been listening to these back to back. I started a little out of order which is ok but would be better starting w/ #1

Can be a stand-alone

Even without reading the other books in the series I was able to follow and enjoy this story. The narrators do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. I think I’ll go back and check out the earlier books to get more backstory.

Awesome

Dax and Reagan went into a marriage of convenience to help Reagan. They've always know each other as friends but that all changes when he begans to see her differently. Regardless of what brought them together that quickly changed in to something much more. I love hockey stories.

Marriage of Convenience

I am a sucker for the marriage-of-convenience and the best friend's little sister trope so Dax checks off all my boxes! Sawyer Bennett is one of my go-to authors for sweet, swoony, with lots of heart and just right amount of steam to make me grab an ice cold drink. It's no different with Dax--actually, Dax (along with Erik) is one of my top favorite in the series! Dax's best friend Lance was killed in a mugging, leaving behind his younger sister Regan. Dax soon finds out that Lance had been paying large amounts of money to help with Regan's medication because she suffers from a serious illness. Now, with her brother dead and no work insurance to cover her treatment, the only option was for Dax and Regan to marry so she could be put under his. Dax had always seen Regan as a little sister, but over the years she had blossomed into a beautiful and very smart woman. The attraction between Dax and Regan was instantaneous and they quickly act on it, but Dax felt tremendous guilt and feelings of inadequacy. Can their marriage of convenience turn into something more? I love Dax and Regan together! Regan is this sweet and innocent girl, but she does have a backbone on her and more than a match for Dax, who is this big, sexy hockey player. They balance each other out and I love how their relationship evolved from friendship to love. They are so swoon! And the sex of course is HOT--I mean, we are talking about Sawyer Bennett here! My favorite part of the series though is the close knit friendship between the Arizona Vengeance team. I love the found family aspect of the team, how they support each other and there's never any question that they each have each other's backs. I also love the sisterhood amongst their wives and girlfriends and how they easily welcomed Regan into the group. I also love the friendship between Regan and Dax's sister Willow. I absolutely loved Dax and I read it solely via audiobook and it was a great time! Aiden Snow as Dax and Virginia Rose as Regan were perfect! They brought both characters to life and added much more to my enjoyment than if I was reading the book on my own. I highly recommend the audiobook! And I highly recommend the series as a whole, but if you don't have the time or inclination to start from book one, Dax can be read as a standalone.
