Mydworth Mysteries

I enjoyed the characters, what I would call a light mystery. Easy to listen to Nathaniel and his interpretation of
Voices for each character. Have read and will read more books. In this series.

Deadly Cargo

As this series of stories continues with Deadly Cargo I continue to enjoy the story, the characters and the narrator. The short story format is perfect for filling in when time is short, but, I do wish a longer...or maybe more frequent “next” in the series was there to begin, when the current one finishes.

only read if you don't mind

there are a few points where you will be yelling at the author " why invent such stupid Heroes". questions they didn't think to ask. Even of themselves.

but worst of all: set up a sting and not have the police standing by. just wait till it all falls apart and then Rush miles to the nearest telephone? Really?

Structurally sound but not interesting to me

The series began on a great footing, but except for the episode before this one, it has gone downhill for me. The plot is tight, and the main characters are appealing, but overall it was not interesting to me. I wasn't intrigued by the adventure. But I already own the next, so will trudge on. The narration by Nathaniel Parker redeems it.

Hijackings!

England, small-town, manufactory, theft, intrigue, 1929, verbal-humor, situational-humor, cosy-mystery, communications*****

American Kat Reilly and Brit Sir Harry Mortimer are settling into married life together in Mydworth. Kat no longer works in interesting ways for the American government abroad, but Harry still works and has connections in Whitehall which means that between them they have proved well able to do some unusual investigating, which they love. It comes to their attention that thefts of cargo from a local company are happening with regularity. Together the couple does an excellent job sleuthing with their trademark sense of humour. Full of twists and red herrings with characters who certainly are and well done imagery. Looking forward to listening to more of this nice, short, fun little escapist series enjoyably narrated by Nathaniel Parker!
