Publisher's Summary
From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Shanora Williams comes a forbidden romance about a college woman who helplessly falls for her best friend's father.
Dear Mr. Black,
I know you were hurting. I heard your cries for help. I wished over and over again that I could make it better, but as you stated, I was too inexperienced; too good for someone as bad as you. Perhaps you were right, but it didn't matter because what I did know was that I loved the way you felt - loved the way you smelled. I loved how hard you got for me, and when you called me your Little Knight. I had been madly in love with you ever since I was 12 years old, but I shouldn't have been. My best friend - your daughter - Isabelle would have hated it. I couldn't afford to lose her. Besides, you two had already lost enough. Losing Mrs. Black was the epitome. It's me, Chloe Knight. I wanted to be there for you no matter what, but Isabelle needed me, too, and she would have hated me if she ever found out I was sleeping with her father.
Dear Mr. Black was formerly titled the number one best seller, Tainted Black.

Good story, Narrator... not so much
I really enjoyed the story, but I struggled with the female narrator. I felt like inflections were used at the wrong time, wrong words, which made it seem like the end of a sentence when it wasn’t. I found it distracting and annoying.

Masterful! please ignore some the biased reviews!
This was a realy great read. You just have to keep in mind, that its also a TABOO story!!!! so if you don't like that kind of thing, you can't just say its a bad book because your simply not into the dame style. If you don't like the fact that she's young dealing with an older man, just don't purchase it, and don't read it, It's just that simple. I like the way the author and the amazing voice actors did such a good job at making it sexy instead of cringe worthy. I'm also happy that the time frame is a bit longer than most, so the story is more gradual and believable, but strangely, I don't feel like there's too much fluff in between the plot lines. Shanora Williams makes some interesting story lines that don't bore me to tears and I'm diggin it. 5 stars!

I COULD HAVE REALLY ENJOYED BUT...
I typically like Honey and Cary but for this book not so much.. either the editing was really bad or they were dragging out there words and it annnoyed me. Could have been great but just ok

Don't waste your credit or your money
Struggle to finish. By the way I only made it halfway through. I found this difficult, not so much because of the subject matter. ( although that was challenging just because here he is a forty-year-old man who allegedly was going to show her ... the 20 year-old how a real man takes care of a woman and the two times that he has a sexual encounter with her he doesn't even attempt to make her first time enjoyable or comfortable. it's an immediate "insert here" experience. ) An older man watching a twelve-year-old girl grow into Womanhood. This was not Lolita by any means. That being said the female narrator "Honey Jones" was terrible I felt like she was reading the label on a can of soup. If I could this would get Negative Stars in all categories.

Read only
This book is a great read. Sadly its not a good one to listen. It just doesnt translate well for whatever reason. The narrators arent horrid but dont help. As others have said if this trope bothers you then just leave it alone but IMO its not really even taboo. I tried and tried to listen but just couldnt. It is a spot on read though.

so so disappointing
SPOILERS❗️
Thankfully I did not get attached to any of the characters in this story bc that epilogue would have gutted me. I read to escape hence my love for a happily ever after. This story is not that!! They do not end up together WTF!! I read this bc I wanted to learn their love story not how it ended!!? Sorry but I will not be reading her books from here on out bc by the prologue or authors note she says she believes in more of a realistic ending and that’s not why I read😩 also her friendship with her childhood best friend was not even salvaged after all this time wtf ?? hated it and I wish I never wasted my money on it. Not for me.

Fabulous!!!!
Not me buying all the books from this author. lol I loved loved loved loved this book. I've never heard of this author before, but she quickly moved to one of my favorites. I loved Theo and Chloe too. I've never read a book with subject before and the author did a fabulous job. Can't wait to start her other books.

Deep
This book tackled some very heavy topics. It was tastefully done. The characters are interesting and fully developed and the narration was on point. Both narrators did a fantastic job. Can’t wait to listen to book 2!

Storyline was good
Read reviews purchased anyway. Not sure why narrator sounded weird to me. Normally HJ is on point!! I can't listen to the second one.
