Story
The world's last floating nuclear supercarrier looks into the face of oblivion as her thinned, exhausted, and beleaguered crew face the largest herd of dead ever recorded. Soon the ship's five-acre flight deck will become the scene of a furious and desperate set-piece battle - like no combat any modern army has seen since Stalingrad. The ranks of the dead are infinite, and those of the living are tiny, depleted, and running out of time...and of hope.

Story
After recovering Patient Zero, Alpha must escape Africa to end the ZA once and for all. But they can feel the hot breath of a reinforced and vengeful Spetsnaz team on their necks - and there can be no escaping the reckoning of an ultimate sniper showdown between Ali and Vasily, and an incomparably brutal iron-cage Texas death match between Predator and Misha. For the first time, all the teams will come together and must fight as brothers for any chance of making it back to Britain. And only one thing is certain - not everyone is walking away from this one.

In the north, the collapsed section of the Wall is defended only by the decimated remains of 2 PARA. Even reinforced by Jameson and the exhausted Royal Marines of One Troop, it's a doomed delaying action at best - and the last choke point in the entire ZA faces an incoming tide of dead stretching to the ends of the Earth. Meanwhile, hunkered down at CentCom, the unified ranks of our heroes, led by Ali and Fick, work furiously to fortify and reinforce what will be humanity's final fallback position - forever.

Story
In the late 2020s and early 30s, corporations managed to render the major governments of the world obsolete. The big corporations owned most of the territories as well as the majority of the world’s wealth. While many of the old traditions were still observed in various parts of the world, the true power was with the corporations. In the late 30s, what would be known as the Corporate Wars began as larger companies initiated hostile takeovers in a whole new fashion. Employees, armed with corporate weapons, warred for dominance. It was a bloody time.

Oh c'mon!!!
I enjoyed this story through until I got to this book. I just couldn't take it anymore. Apparently fortress Britain stood for two years in the ZA but decides to be a bunch of idiots to create drama for the author. Breech of protocol that allows everything to fall apart even though they had two years of never faltering before which allowed this story to start, but since the author needs to push the plot along and force drama on to you now they decide to throw caution to the wind, and on top of that.. This guys whole job was to wake a certain character up, he never gets a response nor checks to see if his job was done and the person was awake... I turned it off right there.. Just had one too many stupid mistake moments to force drama along for me..

Exciting Zombie battles continue with answers
What did you love best about Death of Empires?
After reading all 6 titles previously in this series, it was nice to see some answers given, like how, why and where. Excellent. Enthusiastically waiting for the rest of the series.
Have you listened to any of R. C. Bray’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
R.C. Bray is simply my fave narrator, incredible range with the different characters and performance is simply outstanding. Totally enjoyed the performance.

Less zombies, more Russians.
In book seven less fighting zombies and more fighting Russians. This book focuses more on the Russian threat, the Russian background concerning the virus, and the return to Fortress Britain and it's status in the war. We meet the creator of the virus as well. Lots of action, continued character development, and excellent build-up for the next book.
