Publisher's Summary

A curvy librarian looking to start a family, a clan of gargoyles, and the deception that starts it all.

My family has always found me lacking. From the way I dress, how I look, to the type of magic I have. My family name is full of pomp and prestige, and I want nothing to do with it.

I’m a witch that knows how to set a goal and I have one in mind.

I want a real family.

Dating is a travesty. All the suitors I meet are looking for a connection to the family name I left behind. I need help.

Enter the matchmaker. It seems too good to be true that I can give her the list of traits I want in a partner and have my deepest desire answered, but I’m out of options.

Love comes along in the most unexpected ways.

From the very first moment I meet Elliot Bramblewick, I have hope. But he’s tricky.

I’m not expecting him to be hiding two other mates. Mates who are as alarmed and intrigued by my presence as I am by theirs.

He thinks I’m a perfect fit for them, but can I open my heart and discard my list long enough to see if this is the family I’m looking for?

None of my lists and plans prepared me for being courted by three gargoyles.

Deceived by the Gargoyles is a stand-alone monster romance in the same world as Stalked by the Kraken with multiple love interests who are in relationships with each other. There will be no choosing among the love interests.

Content Warning: This book includes breeding, knots, size difference, lying, and deception within an open relationship.

Very Spicy, Very good

I wouldn't consider myself a particular fan of "Monster Romances" but I do love a spicy book, and I like supernatural romances (á la Discovery of Witches). This Book had a lot in the plus column: likeable characters, interesting plot- more than most modern romances, and incredible sex scenes. Things I liked about it the most, was the author was not afraid to 1. give us something different- configurations of the MMMF romance dynamics, and 2. didn't shy away from them, 3. multiple characters POV.

I get bored with romances that "cut to black" implied sex. Lillian Lark doesn't do that, every scene is special and particular to the characters in it. Each of them having a unique personality, needs and desires. The MMMF probably does help the "not feeling stale" pieces of this by virtue of there being more players available, but it didn't feel cheap either, a lot of thought went into this! The dynamic of relationship and caring between all these players did really make me look at my own love and relationships a different way. And the multiple character POV allows you to get in touch with the family dynamics of everyone involved. Despite most romances being from the Woman's POV, I like when I can take a break from one person's hand wringing and get the other facet of a story.

Loved the story, didn't LOVE the narrator all the time. I thought the voice she gave to the heroine, Grace, kind of grated on me more than the voices she gave to other characters, for whatever reason. I can't explain it exactly. But it would NOT discourage me from purchasing and listening again.

Loved it all around!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have read the Tempting Monsters series by Kathryn Moon and loved it but haven’t really listened to or actually finished any monster romances that since then. Those books are darker and have more sexual scenes than this book but my point is that I was so happy to find another side to monster romance that I enjoyed! It was well written and I loved the characters. It was emotional and the spice was *chefs kiss*. I will be reading more from Lillian Lark. Definitely recommend the read!

Polyamory done right!

Lillian Lark knows how to do polyamory right! Each of the gargoyles was such a fully-fleshed, complex character with a deep love for each other as well as for the heroine. This book is filled with tender moments, sweet moments, hot moments, and just enough danger to amplify the tension. Best I've read from her yet!
