In Drahtigistan lebt die Drachendame Gertrud, die schlechte Laune hat und deswegen die Bäume anzündet. König LIX weiß nicht mehr weiter, daher schickt er den Dorfschmied Joshua aus, der versuchen soll, dem Drachen Vernunft beizubringen. Joshua jedoch erkennt sehr bald, dass es nicht Vernunft ist, die Gertrud helfen wird. Stattdessen braucht sie ein Monokel, dass gegen ihre Kurzsichtigkeit helfen soll. Und auch die Einsamkeit der Drachendame möchte Joshua bekämpfen!
