"Den Sinn des Lebens gibt es nicht. Wer nach dem Sinn des Lebens fragt, ist krank", hat Sigmund Freud geschrieben. Sein Schüler Viktor Emil Frankl hingegen behauptete das Gegenteil. Der österreichische Psychiater und Psychotherapeut war fest davon überzeugt, dass Sinnlosigkeit krank macht und der Mensch ein geistiges Wesen ist, das einen Lebenssinn genauso dringend braucht wie Nahrung und Wasser.

In den 30er Jahren begründete er die "Logotherapie". Prägend für Viktor Frankls Lebens- und Berufsweg war seine Erfahrung in vier Konzentrationslagern. In dieser Zeit fand er zum Glauben und schrieb nach seiner Befreiung das Buch "Trotzdem ja zum Leben sagen", das weltweit ein Bestseller wurde. Seine bekannteste Schülerin ist Elisabeth Lukas. Sie erzählt von ihren Begegnungen mit Frankl und ihren Erfahrungen mit der Logotherapie.
