À propos de cet audio
The widows are back! Big hair and bigger lies collide in the highly anticipated follow-up to Audible’s best-selling Young Rich Widows, where nothing’s more dangerous than a widow with nothing left to lose.
Set in neon-drenched Providence, Rhode Island, circa 1987, just two years after a plane carrying four mafia-affiliated law-firm partners exploded over the Atlantic along with the cushy lives of their once wealthy wives. Now, Krystle fights to keep their fallen law firm afloat. Justine hustles as a lawyer-in-training. Meredith owns and operates the strip club where she once danced. And Camille orchestrates honey-pot schemes for scorned women–until one of her arrangements goes terribly wrong, and she becomes implicated in the debauched Mayor Tom’s mysterious murder in the champagne room. With everything on the line, the widows must join forces once more. But as the conspiracy unravels beyond the mayor's demise, their search for justice pits first wife against second wife and widow against widow. With the widows’ fragile bond now tested, will the women cement their friendships, or is loyalty a luxury they just can’t afford?
In this thrilling expansion of the Widows universe, brimming with sloshed champagne, smeared lipstick, and lethal secrets, Desperate Deadly Widows unfolds as an edge-of-your-seat thriller where desperation wears stilettos, trust is a poker chip, and redemption comes at the cost of everything you thought you knew.

The widows are back.
They get ensnared in the murder of the town mayor and get tangled with their most prominent client. Krystle, Camille, Meredith and Jasmine will have to stick together to figure out why they are being framed and who the heck is the real murderer. There are secrets galore, and a few more twists and turns. Over the top and enjoyable is how I would describe this one.
There's snark, cat fights, murder and mayhem. Another great narration and a cute mystery.

The Widows are back in this fantastic fun follow-up!
Krystal, Justine, Meredith and Camille are hard at work trying to keep their late spouses’ firm afloat, while trying to balance their personal lives, When the mayor is poisoned in Meredith’s strip club, and Camille is under suspicion, it’s up to the Widows to prove her innocence, leading them deep into one of Rhode Island’s richest and most influential families. Will their newly formed friendship survive?
Kimberly Belle, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan, and Vanessa Lillie craft a story that is just as much fun as the first book. I’m glad that the mob storyline remained in book 1, allowing for a new antagonist, meaning this story can be read as a standalone. All four women may be working hard and fiercely protective of each other, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t still be at each other’s throats and bring the drama when needed, in a true Dynasty-like fashion! Once again, I partly listened to the audiobook, and narrators Dina Pearlman, Karissa Vacker, Helen Laser, and Ariel Blake shine at bringing these characters to life, having me both laughing out loud and desperately wanting the story to continue with its well-placed reveals. The authors balance the over-the-top drama with salient points about land ownership of the Narragansett tribe and political corruption, which feels as timely now as in 1987. The Widows are independent and don’t need a man to save them; I really liked that Aiden and Rome act as support, letting the women take charge in solving the mystery (and shoutout to that character development for Rome too!).
Desperate Deadly Widows is another fun, dazzling thrill-ride of a story that has me greatly anticipating more antics from these women!
Another fun 80s soap opera with the Widows!
