About this listen

The sensational biography of Princess Diana, now revised to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her death.

When Diana: Her True Story - in Her Own Words was first published in 1992, it forever changed the way the public viewed the British monarchy. Greeted initially with disbelief and ridicule, the number-one New York Times best-selling biography has become a unique literary classic, not just because of its explosive contents but also because of Diana's intimate involvement in the publication. Never before had a senior royal spoken in such a raw, unfiltered way about her unhappy marriage, her relationship with the queen, her extraordinary life inside the House of Windsor, her hopes, her fears, and her dreams. Now, 25 years on, biographer Andrew Morton has revisited the secret tapes he and the late princess made to reveal startling new insights into her life and mind. In this fully revised edition of his groundbreaking biography, Morton considers Diana's legacy and her relevance to the modern royal family.

An icon in life and a legend in death, Diana continues to fascinate. Diana: Her True Story - in Her Own Words is the closest we will ever come to her autobiography.

There are times where the narrator will repeat basically the same sentiment within a paragraph, which makes it very bland at parts. It was nice having the recordings at the beginning and this is not what I am referring to. Can be dry at times.

Interesting but repeats itself

Didn't like the narrating by Caroline. She sounded to snobbish. Loved the rest of it

Loved it

I enjoyed this version that included some of the taped conversations for the initial book. The narration could be dry at times but the book itself and format was good.

Really liked how its spoken from Diana's first person perspective. Broken out into segments and easy to follow.

Very interesting

If you ever thought you Diana’s life. I will guarantee you did not. It surprised me how she looked so composed now knowing she was not only on the outside. While secretly dying with in. A must read book.

Wonderful book, I appreciate all the new add-ins. She truly was a magnificent human being, and this book makes me feel even closer to her.

Diana Our Angel and Princess

I felt like I kept bearding the same stories with the same details over and over again. I am unsure if this was a issue with the recording or if it is how the book is written. Based on the audible version this book is unfortunately repetitive and redundant. Jumped around without clarity. Respect to Diana, May she rest in peace.

Incredible story but poorly written. Whole book was quite as another review indicated, seemed to be on a loop. Unfortunately took away I think from the telling of her story.

Disappointed

The readers were very off putting..entirely wrong. The character of Princess Diana especially had no connection to the real princess. Have heard speak many times.
