Publisher's Summary

Discovering Delilah is a Lesbian romance (#LGBT).

After the death of her parents on the day of her college graduation, Delilah Armstrong thought she could finally follow her heart and come out to her closest friends, but the guilt of going against her parents' beliefs haunts her. The feelings she has for her best friend, Ashley, are stronger than anything she's felt before, but Delilah has never even kissed a girl, and fear stops her at every turn.

Ashley Carver promised herself that she would never again date another girl who wasn't out, but that was before she met intoxicatingly sweet and sexy Delilah.

When another girl offers to teach Delilah the ropes, it changes Delilah's whole world and gives her the courage to go after the only girl she really wants. But coming out isn't as easy as Delilah imagined, and moving past her parents' death and the feelings of guilt she is left with is even harder. The intense passion between Ashley and Delilah is too strong to deny, but coming together means risking everything.

Discovering Delilah is an edgy, evocative, romantic story of friendship, family, and the courage to love.

queer people written in a straight way :(

It's frankly really hard to find representation of queer communities in literature. (Just try doing a search for queer content available on audible.) I bought this book because it was one of my only options for non-straight stories. (I'm not normally a romance-novel-person, so perhaps that's also part of why it wasn't for me.) I wasn't familiar with Melissa Foster's work, so I assumed she was a queer novelist. Then, part way through I was like, "Wait.... I don't know any lesbian couples who are THIS obsessed with g-spot stimulation.... Wait, there's some heavy bi-phobia here...... wait, why is all their sex entirely focussed on climaxing? Oh no, Melissa Foster must be a straight lady." And like, I don't know her inner secret thoughts and feelings, but I could only find internet affirmations that she's straight? And either way, she writes these queer characters DISTINCTLY like a straight person. Made me sad. I listened through to the end, (again, because I so rarely get to hear queer stories on audible) but it's left a bad taste in my mouth, even a month later.
