Story
Two lonely towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, 12 miles of empty road. Jack Reacher never turns back. It's not in his nature. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets is big trouble. So in Lee Child’s electrifying new novel, Reacher - a man with no fear, no illusions, and nothing to lose - goes to war against a town that not only wants him gone, it wants him dead. It wasn’t the welcome Reacher expected. He was just passing through, minding his own business. But within minutes of his arrival a deputy is in the hospital and Reacher is back in Hope.

Reacher wakes up, alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a bed in a makeshift hospital room. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there. The last thing he can recall is the car he had hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed. The people who staged the attack assume Reacher was the driver's accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk. A plan that will backfire spectacularly.

Publisher's Summary
"Make some coffee. You'll read all night." Lee Child, number one New York Times best-selling author of the Jack Reacher thrillers, gives Diane Capri and her new Hunt for Jack Reacher Series two thumbs up!
Jack Reacher: Friend or Enemy? FBI Special Agent Kim Otto doesn't know what she doesn't know....
It’s been a while since we first met Lee Child’s Jack Reacher in Killing Floor.
Fifteen years and 20 novels later, Reacher still lives off the grid, until trouble finds him, and then he does whatever it takes, much to the delight of readers and listeners and the dismay of villains.
Now someone big is looking for him. Who? And why?
Hunting Jack Reacher is a dangerous business, as FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar are about to find out.
Otto and Gaspar are by-the-book hunters who know when to break the rules; Reacher is a wanted man, and a stone cold killer when things get personal.
But is he friend or enemy? Armed with disinformation, they intend to find out. Only the secrets hidden in Margrave, Georgia, will tell them.
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Diane Capri brings her insider knowledge to bear on her friend Lee Child's iconic character. The Hunt for Jack Reacher begins here. Have you joined the hunt yet?
"Full of thrills and tension, but smart and human, too. Kim Otto is a great, great character - I love her." (Lee Child, number one worldwide best-selling author of the Jack Reacher thrillers)

Not impressed
Maybe if I'd made it through the last hour I'd have liked it but, frankly boring, I tried, no feeling for the characters and I couldn't find a reason to finish it. This is a whole series? bleurgh. I liked the idea but then it just became a boring gimmick, Lee Child, handing over to your brother was bad enough, but this? Ugh.

INTERESTING TAKE ON REACHER
The story revolving around Reacher (a favourite character) could be confusing or looking at Reacher from a more negative perspective if the Reacher novels haven't been read. As a Reacher fan I was looking at different views of him but wishing she had found him.

Good book but I have not read many!
I enjoyed the story and will definitely read more.
In my case listen as I don’t read very well, didn’t learn until 5th grade and have my own way of speed reading.
That being said this is the first Reacher book I’ve read.
Going to switch back and forth between Authors to keep it interesting..
Jack Reacher is a great character and I look forward to hearing more books
Thanks

Not about Reacher
Jack Reacher is not really in the story. Most of the time I didn’t know where it was going or what they were after.

Story was good but
Overall the story is good and it’s interesting to tie it to the original series but felt like any sequel, simply trying to hard. Don’t expect to listen to any others of this series.

so bad I don't know where to start
This book is sooooo bad. From the terrible story, to the repetitive content (we GET he has four kids), to the CRINGEY "banter" between them, but most of all, the constant, stupid, incorrect assumptions. These agents are clearly idiots. I can't believe the Reacher frachise allowed this book to even be published, let alone use the Jack Reacher name. And they actually managed to find a narrator as terrible as the book...terrible accents that come and go, stucco fire delivery, it was completely painful. The entire thing. It doesn't even deserve one star.
