Publisher's Summary

Billionaires like him have a type. And it's not me....

I'm not the kind of girl who has one-night stands. Except...I did.

What can I say? After a few drinks with a gorgeous man who made me feel alive for the first time since losing my mom, I was powerless to say no. And I didn't regret it. Not one minute of our hot, mind-melting night together. But he wasn't a forever kind of guy. So I walked away. I wasn't supposed to ever see him again. Then I did.

Turns out my sexy one-night stand is Dr. Jacob Mitchell - and he's the cardiothoracic surgeon who just saved my dad's life.

The shocking part? He never forgot about me or a single minute of our night together. And he wants more. Actually, he wants it all.

But I'm no fool. And just because he handles hearts every day doesn't mean I'm going to give him mine. Not without a fight, anyway....

Contains mature themes.

Great story

Did not like Sarah Puckett voice as the female narrator . find her voice flat, no life with telling the story. it hurt to listen to throughout. However, I’ve always enjoyed Aiden snow voice, he basically kept me throughout the story. Other than that, it was a great story

MY FIRST.. BUT DEFINITELY NOT MY LAST

Dr. Jacob (aka Jake) Mitchell is a very successful and caring Cardio Surgeon.. he’s a handsome, rich, carefree, charismatic Playboy who comes from old money. He, his brother and his best friend make up the Billionaire’s Club.. who avoid the fame hungry gold diggers by only ‘one and done’ f’king rich women with similar lifestyles. But, while in a coffee shop, then a roof top and attending a wedding, he keeps bumping into the same beautiful intriguing woman. Ashley’s character, their random lol meetings, the suggestive flirts, easy banter and tempting teases lead to a ‘no strings’ one night fling.. a night and a woman that’ll haunt Jake’s thoughts for a year. Ashleigh attends a wedding on behalf of her sick father and it’s there that she bumps into a beautiful, handsome, charismatic, sexy stranger.. not once but three times and he will rock her world for one glorious night.. but by the morning light she needs to vanish from his life. Both regretted not exchanging numbers but, when Ashley’s father has a heart attack, it’s Dr. Jacob Mitchell who saves him.. and what do you know, Fate and Destiny have given these two likeable characters yet another chance to get it right. Which they eventually do.. but there’s boundaries to establish then blur, the paparazzi to control and struggle with, a healthy heart to be found, a ‘one and done’ ex’s drama to handle and their very different lifestyles to merge together. An enjoyable romance with great banter, interesting characters, sizzles and sex, heartache and hiccups and a world too interested in the dreamy doctor. A wee bit insta initially.. however the pitfalls means they did have to make it work and the dual POV narration by Sarah and Aiden brought the characters and the story to life. WORTH A CREDIT? Yup, a weighty well-paced fest of give and take.. of family love and loyalty.. of thunderbolts, second chances and love.

One of my top 5 of the year.

Great love story, unpredictable, will be going in my favorites to listen to again. First time listening to this author and will definitely be getting more of her books, really worth the credit.

Editors and researchers would have helped

The storyline was fine, but the misuse of words and ideas were hard to overlook.

Out of Touch

This author seems out of touch with what women like. Do you think women so simple minded? I actually thought it might be a man using a female pen name. This doctor is a total douche canoe in literally every way.

Good overall story but very cheesy moments

Good overall story but very cheesy moments. I loved that Ash was independent and Jake was too and supportive, but the characters got on my nerves sometimes with how corny they were. Just my personal opinion, I’m sure most will love this story.

Loved the storyline

Male narrator was great. Female - not so good. She got better toward the end, but initially, there was no life in her reading.

Boring

I’m not that much of a fan of aiden snows narration. He just sounds like he should be doing voice overs for movie trailers. Except he’s reading for hours in that voice. It’s not terrible and I made it through the whole book. But ended up fast forwarding the last few chapters. I’ve a read a few books with this scenario and this was the boring predictable version of the same tropes.

Almost…..?

This book had promise. The story line was pretty predictable, but it is a romance novel, after all.

I found it a bit choppy. Maybe that was an editing issue with the audio recording, but there were many times where, within a chapter, you were in a moment and then all of a sudden it’s weeks later. Felt awkward to me.

I also had trouble with the male narrator’s voice. It was so low that I found myself having to turn up the volume to hear the words clearly. Could be my hearing is no longer as crisp at that low range.

Finally, I know the dad storyline was just background, but considering the serious nature of it, I thought it was a little too easy and therefore hard to take seriously.

All in all, I simply found it only almost met expectations and not at all sure I’ll go forth with the series. Certainly won’t spend a credit on it, but maybe I’d check it out on a 2for1 or other sale. Or if it’s part of the free catalog at some point.

Awesome!

So sorry I chose to start this audio one evening - I didn’t want to turn it off. A great story and wonderful narration. Woke up and turned it on immediately to finish.

DR. Mitchell

Excellent book and great storyline. I enjoyed listening to Aiden Snow and Sarah Puckett. They read the character well. This book is definitely in the favorite column and worth re-listening. Cant wait for the next book.
