Publisher's Summary

If happiness is a gift, then Cameron Stanton is my Santa Claus.

I can’t tell you the exact moment I fell in love with him. Only that I did. With every glance, every touch, every minute...he stole a little more of me.

They say that all men are created equal. Well, that’s a blatant lie! I know, because I met God's gift to women in Vegas; I pretended he was my husband to get rid of another man. He took our fake marriage seriously, and it became his personal goal to consummate. He spoke to me in French, and I lied to him in German. His laughter was addictive. But I thought what happens in Vegas would stay in Vegas. Until it didn't.

Dr. Stanton turned up where I least expected, and my lies came back to haunt me. The attraction is palpable. The secrets unchangeable. I need him more than air.

This is a stand-alone contemporary romance.

Bad writing

I listened to 5h15, in that time I felt like I was drowning in adverbs: nervously, cheekily, sarcastically, meekly, nicely, mischievously, and MUCH MUCH more. Also in that time the phrase "smile sexily" was used 12 times, yes I counted. One time is too many for me. The autor only told us about the emotions, did not show. This is the first rule of writing: show, don't tell. Overall, it made the story boring and cringy at parts.

Huh

Unnecessarily long and maybe too much sex, or the sex just got boring, idk I kinda lost interest.

The most memorable and frustrating part for me was Cameron's broken hand that must have miraculously recovered. This guys a big-time heart surgeon whose instructing 5 residents, ummm..... how does he do it with a broken hand? We'll never know cus other than being told a half dozen times to get an x-ray, it's never mentioned again and buddy just goes back to work as usual.
Somehow TL Swan still manages to drag this book out to 18hrs without ever tying up this loose end.

Long…

Overly long. And i am sure i am not the only one noticing the 50 some times use of “smile sexily” (if not more…).

You can pass this book

the only reason the I finished the book is the narrator. Horrible story, shallow protagonist, incapable to have a simple conversation. An fifth year med school who only do 9 to 5 as an intern. Who is american yet speak with British expression... Waste of time. The narrator are great though

How to overused the word "sexily"

Loved the overall story but could have done with less of the word "sexily". Honestly, use a thesaurus.

Not My Favorite Book And Way Too Long!

This was the most tedious book I have ever listened to! If I ever hear the word "deadpan" or "sexily" again it will be too soon! Also please for the love of god use the proper term or slang even for a certain part of a woman's anatomy, it's not called "her sex" it sounds ridiculous! I think a writer/author should have a better grasp of the english language. I also didn't care for the fact that the female protagonist is so wrapped up in a man that her fear of losing him outweighs her telling him that she has a child and his child at that! I found the male protagonist pushy and controlling when it comes to her life also I'm not a prude in any way and love my share of spice in a story but it seems all these two ever did was hit the sheets which became very monotonous, also it would have been a nice change of pace if the two took more time to get to know each other instead of predictably marrying them off when they really didn't know each other all that well. I have read a few books from this author that I liked but sadly this book was not one of them, 18 hours is much too long, and 9 epilogues? Really?! I did enjoy listening to the female narrator the male narrator not so much, not much emotion in relaying the story his voice was flat and he sounded bored.

Great listen

I enjoyed listening to this book. It’s an interesting story. The characters are complicated and flawed and put in situations that are grey. The world is not black and white. Some of their actions and ways of thinking annoyed me because they varied from my own thought process and view on the world. And I liked that. It makes the story more real. It’s also very spicy. Intimate scenes are fully described. They both enjoy sex and the male character is dominant. She seems to enjoy some pain and being pushed. Not everyone will enjoy those scenes and may find them uncomfortable. Their romance is not for me. I would not have married the male character. Which is a nice change from many romance novels where the main characters are written to appeal to the masses.

Love this author

I love T.L. Swan. Just enough spice et a great store with HEA. I like that Ashley was a strong and loving female caracter. The way Cameron loves her is dreamy.

Way too long

The story is way too long. It feels like the author just kept adding random stuff. Also the main male character Cameron almost comes office borderline abusive the way he talks to the girlfriend. Personally for me it does not come off is attractive or romantic..
