Publisher's Summary

It's time for the dragon marked to rise...

Jessa Lebron doesn’t have a lot to complain about. Her father is the alpha of their wolf pack, she lives in Stratford - a protected supernatural prison town - and her best friends, the Compass quads, are the strongest dudes of the four races: shifter, vampire, fey, and magic user.

Yep, life is pretty much exactly how she wants it. Until the fateful day, just after her 22nd birthday, when the mother who abandoned her returns to the pack, bearing secrets that change everything.

The biggest secret of all: Jessa is dragon-marked, a designation that places her in grave danger.

For a thousand years, every supernatural child born with the mark was eliminated to prevent the rise of the dragon king, a fearsome ancient warmonger. In a bid to learn more about her fate and how to avoid the hunters, Jessa finds herself locked in Vanguard, the notorious supernatural prison.

Thankfully, she’s not alone. Braxton Compass, the most feared of the dragon shifters, is right there with her. Together, they’ll have to survive long enough to free themselves and the other dragon marked, before the king rises.

The narrator is horrible.

I just finished the supernatural academy series and was very excited to start this. The second she began talking her voice was winey and grating. I will not be finishing it. What a disappointment.

Narrator thinks these are cartoon characters

I love most of everything Jaymin Eve does but I’ve put off reading these books because of the sample of the narration. I decided to just go for it maybe I’ll get used to it! But omg the narrator ruined The whole experience, enjoyment, attractiveness of the guys, and my overall view of the main character. It’s like she tried to make the MC sound “cute” but she sounded stupid not like her actions were stupid, but she sounds like a freaking baby. Not.cute.at.all!!! The guys sounds like cartoon characters which was not attractive at all. I could not imagine them being “hot as all sin” with the voices they had. Also with the voice given to the MC and the way she made her inside character sound...the whole “food obsession” was just disgusting to me! I was so severely annoyed everytime she talked about food. Again it just wasn’t cute or enduring like it should have been, like it was written to be. It’s a shame! Vanessa Moyen would have killed this narration and made the book what it should have been. I’m reluctantly listening to the next book...but barely...I’m searching audible for other books while painfully listening

To clear some things up...

Y’all, someone actually said the narrator was monotone and the MC (main character) was obsessed with food which made her not like the book. I am obsessed with not only food, but everythinggggg Jaymin writes and I can say, DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT REVIEW! Get this book, NOW, and you will not regret it! I fell in love and I cannot wait for the next one!! 😍❤️

Love!

Loved this book! Narrator took a little to get used to, very monotone in a lot of parts, but the story kept me involved!

Jessa Babe

I liked this story but the narration kinda falls flat and really the jessa babe got old real quick. It made the character (s) sound a weird sleazy sales man. I feel like there could be a little more development in the female characters and the male characters are different enough from each other for me to really be able to tell the difference. Overall it was good to pass the time I just probably won't listen to this one again.

Great prequel to the Supernatural Academy series

after reading Jaymin Eve's books in the Supernatural Academy series, this was a great prequel! I was surprised to see that it was a shorter amount of chapters than the previous books. but nonetheless the storyline is very awesome!!
