Publisher's Summary

Two broken hearts find love and healing in each other in this sexy contemporary romance spin-off from the New York Times best-selling author of the Rock Chick and Dream Man series.

Evie is a bona fide nerd and a hyperintelligent chick who has only ever been able to rely on herself. So when she decides to earn an engineering degree, she takes a job dancing at Smithie's club to make the tuition money she needs. But between her lack of dancing skills and an alpha bad boy who becomes overly protective, Evie realizes this gig might not be as easy as she thought.

Daniel "Mag" Magnusson knows a thing or two about pain, but the mask he wears is excellent. No one can tell that this good-looking, quick-witted, and roguish guy has deep-seated issues. Mag puts on a funny-guy routine so he can hide his broken heart and PTSD. But when Evie dances her way into Mag's life, he realizes that he needs to come face-to-face with the demons of his past if he wants a future with her.

Wonderful Story but Poor Editing

Thank you Kristen Ashley! I love the rock chick formula. Loved the story and really like this narrator. Had to lower the rating only because there are quite a lot of errors which was distracting. I’ve never listened to an audio book with the narrator making blunders and corrections in it. Wonder if the pre-edit version got posted in error...

This story had a Rock Chick feel and an appearance from my favorite ladies. I was in love instantly and couldn't stop listening. Thank you again for creating stories I fall in love with and characters we root for.

Error and freaky lisp

I have never left a review but felt like since this is KA I had to because it made me sad
At 11 hrs and 17 min there is a big error and has not been edited
And why does savannah peachwood have a crazy lisp it ruined everything for me
Come on post production it’s not like you didn’t have time to fix this and maybe the narrator shouldn’t wear bleaching trays next time she records
I don’t get it

Evie & Mag -Stripper & Commando

This story is exceptional quintessential Kristin Ashley ! I loved every word of it. I cried it was so good. It has all the feels, excitement and hot alphas we so love and find in KA’s Rock Chicks & Chaos books. Lots of these characters make a showing. In this one, the focus is on one of Hawk’s Commandos, Mag. Hot does not fully describe him. Evie is a genius who has the misfortune to have crappy parents and a rotten brother for whom she strips at Smitty’s to “help” support their bad habits. This stand alone book is so very good. It’s KA at her best! The audible is fantastic and brings the story to life.

Don't waste your time, Don't waste your credits.

I'm a KA fan, I've listened to or read most of her books. This one just seems lazy and thrown together. Can an author plagerize their own work? I swear some of the lines from this book seemed to be cut and pasted from a Rock Chicks book. This book is a spin off from the Rock Chicks series with some familiar characters thrown in, but it felt forced. It seemed some of those characters didn't belong in the story. The ending was tragically bad, and made no sense. The plot, the writing and the editing seemed lazy. I'm still be a KA fan, I'll just skip this series.

Yes!!

Everything you've come to expect from a KA novel- strong characters who are made for each other, with insecurities and issues like the rest of us. So worth the wait, and I know I'm going to fall in love with the Dream Team! Evie and Danny are my new favorite couple! Love love love!

Story Falls Short for Me

Kristen Ashley is one of my all-time favorite authors. I love her alpha, hot-guy stories. This one fell short for me and seemed kind of stale. Evie was kind of hard to believe the way she kept helping her thankless, no-good family and Doc just fell in love with Evie like "wham!" I just couldn't buy it. Not to fret, I still wait eagerly for the next KA book!

A new generation of Rock Chick

This is definitely the new generation of Rock Chick.. It feels the same, just with a newer, younger bunch, and with appearances of the original Rock Chick group. I love seeing the original group but I can't but help want more from them with their kids in the picture. What can I say, I just can't get enough.

As for this new generation, I'm pretty sure I'm going to love them just as much if Dream Maker is anything to go by. If you have not read Rock Chick, you are in for a ride. You've got super, alpha men going all bada$$ protecting the crazy and wild women they fall fast and hard for.

This whole series is based off Lottie's matchmaking, and she must be one heck of a matchmaker because it seems she has scored 100% with all her choices. We got glimpses of what's to come of the future Dream team and I am looking forward to each book.

Simply awful!

Do not waste the credit or your time. I love KA novels but this one is ridiculous- a genius cannot find any work other than stripping. Wow that’s some genius. This was painful to listen too, really tried but just couldn’t finish.

Kristen Ashley scores big again

How does Kristen Ashley do it!!?? In Dream Maker she takes us back into the Rock Chick universe but creatively craves out a new world. With the wealth and depth of characters a less skilled writer could really overdo it with nostalgia but KA presented the perfect blend of old and new and totally built a new world of characters I can’t wait to get to know better. Kristen Ashley is a gift to her fans and really any reader of romance. I recommend all her books across the different genres she writes. Rock Chick for life!
