When Colorado won the Stanley Cup in 2022, Kadri (by then a fan favourite in Denver) was a clutch player in high-pressure games. Today he is a veteran leader with the Calgary Flames, and still making the highlight reels.

But the core of Kadri's story is what happened off the ice—both shocking and heartwarming. Kadri faced brutal anti-Muslim harassment during Colorado's Cup run from Blues fans and received incredible support from Denver fans. When a controversy arose about an uncalled penalty on the championship-winning goal, this founding member of the league’s Hockey Diversity Alliance used the opportunity to make humorous t-shirts, which raised over $250,000 for the Kadri Foundation.

As a life long Leafs fan I really appreciated the candid story telling including the swearing. Very authentic. It’s great to see behind the curtain and past the media narratives and get the players side of the story. Kadri’s accomplishments are even more amazing once you understand the full back story and his resilience, tenacity and perseverance. Dreams do come true.

I cried a lot more than I expected I would, listening to this book. I giggled and smirked a lot too. This was so well written, a great look into the NHL world but also really tugs at your heart. I will admit I did not know much about Kadri before Calgary, and this was truly eye opening. I have a whole new respect for the player and the man.
