Publisher's Summary
He walked a tightrope five stories up just to hold my hand....
Gaze: I moved into the building next to Pixie when I was 11. She blew bubbles through my window. I shot my Nerf gun through hers. We both had secrets, but one of us was fated to get hurt. I wanted it to be me.
...She walked a tightrope five stories up just to save my life.
Pixie: When I was afraid of the dark, he would shine a light in my window. We shared our popsicles, and I taught him how to get a good swing on the playground. I never imagined I’d have to decide who got to live and who didn’t. I chose him, and he could never know.

Deep thought!! Wow and Amazing!
I have spent the last few hours thinking about this book and how it has impacted me! Debra, you have once again, managed to combine my childhood experiences with my passion for remaining a teenagers-mental health therapist. For every night spent alone, there remains a plethora of days available to make up and fill in those unexpected fears and misadventures. Pixie, my soul hears you and Gaze, my heart craves for you. Well-done Ma'am, well-done!!🥰❤ -Kristie B

WHY ISNT THIS BOOK MORE POPULAR?!
I've re read this book so many time in the last year and I cannot express how soul wrenching beautiful this book is.
I laughed, I cried, and even screamed once or twice but will never stop recommending this book to others. I still find myself months later thinking about Pixie and Gaze along with all the other Pixie Ray's in the world and am baffled that this book isn't more well known!
if you're reading this review than this is YOUR SIGN to give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. 💛🌌

Well wriitten story
This is a book of teenage bullying, dealing with tragedy, abuse and best friends that manage to be better than some of the adults in their life, and remain friends even through separation and coming back together to the eventual HEA. Great story of Gaze and Pixie along with great narration.

Tragic and Beautiful. Male narrator took away from the story though.
This is a powerful story of survival and coming of age. It is not a romance. But, it is a wonderful story, which is even more inspiring when you listen to the author’s note.
The reading is extremely monotone though. Especially from the male narrator. I had a hard time paying attention at parts due to the lulling nature of his voice.
I think this is the reason I never felt fully invested in the characters.

Oh WOW!
Oh how I absolutely love Debra! Her writing is just wow! I have listened to the majority of her books and I always come away with so much it's so hard to put into words. I can not express enough how great this book is or how incredibly well Debra weaves her stories.
This one in particular touched a deep place in my heart as I can totally relate to the bond between Pixie and Gaze. This really took me back to days with my best friend.
Rose and Benjamin are amazing as usual, brining Debra's words to life in a way that will stay with you long after the story is over. Such a wonderful listen!

Achingly beautiful and tragic but worth the ride
The story was so heart breaking at times that I almost wanted to skip parts but of course I didn’t because I was incredibly invested in the outcomes for the two main characters. I love them and wanted to see the HEA. The side characters were so special too. The narration was fantastic and added so much to the story. This isn’t a typical romance but it is well worth a credit.
