Publisher's Summary

I've said it before, but sometimes I'm a bad person. I cheated on my 12th-grade math final, I've run countless yellow lights, and I gossip about how hot my kickass best friends are. (Good thing my job as a guild bartender doesn't require moral perfection.)

But there's bad, and then there's bad. And I'm not sure which applies to a certain dark druid/wanted criminal/reluctant friend of mine. His transgressions include black-magic dealings, kidnapping, and murder, and he's about to add "revenge-fueled killing spree" to his resume - if I don't stop him.

Should I stop him?

He and his nemesis are gearing up to tear each other apart, rogues and vultures are converging with their sights on the spoils, and the guilds that would normally stomp them into the ground are under attack. We're on the verge of an all-out criminal turf war, and my time to decide is almost up.

Who's the real bad guy...and do I dare stand in his way?

Make sure to check out the companion series, The Guild Codex: Demonized, available now, and The Guild Codex: Warped, coauthored by Rob Jacobsen.

Final sprint has begon!

So if you haven't touched the sister series Guilded Codex: Demonized, go check it out! So far things are heating up as Tory is trying to save EVERYONE. From. Magipool rescue down to slight hazing of Robin and it is wearing Tory out. While the backdrop is intense it is really Tory's internal white knight complex vs reality that made this book shine. Absolute koodoos to Annette Marie for doing it without making the charater come off as whinny. The payoff is good and am excited to see this series come to a conclusion.

Ugh! Tori sucks but Twiggy saves the day

I really liked the ending of this book. There is tension, drama, unexpected partnerships, surprising betrayals, new characters, old acquaintances, demons, hunters, and Fae! One big shining light to this book is Twiggy. Gosh, I love that little Fae 🤗 Who I didnt care for in this book was Tori. At the end, I personally was on "the bad guy's" side rather than hers. Tori isnt smart, isnt magical, isnt cunning, she is just a bunch of isnt's. What she is is a hypocrite and cry baby. "I know you're a bad guy but I didnt think you would do bad things"... not her exact words but that's basically what she is thinking... she just annoys me immensely. I read these books for the storyline for all the other characters... I want to know what happens with Ezra, Zac, and Robin. But Tori... Tori is just a side note to me. On a better note, I would love to read this author's adult work. I just imagine stories like this with more mature characters and its exciting.

Amazing as always!

I love this series and always can’t wait to read the next one. This brook brings a lot of the series plot to a peak where we can expect the next books to be full and action packed. I love this narrator and think she does a wonderful job with bringing the characters to life.

Another solid entry in this series

I think this series is great at posing new challenges that help the main characters grow in every book. I really appreciate the humor that gets mixed in with the drama as well. Dukehart also really know how to amp up the action when needed.

The same cliff hanger as the book before

I love this series but I felt like book 5 left us with the cliffhanger (I won' t give any spoilers) that should have been resolved in book 6. When it wasn't, it made me feel like book 6 was basically filler. A little disappointing. These are great characters which could have so many adventures that this seemed like a waste of the opportunity for that to happen.

Another Fast Paced Ride

The Guild Codex series has charm and style. The tongue in cheek humor and fast paced action make this another winner in the series.

My Heart Can't Take This!

My heart can't take this kind of torture any longer! The Druid storyline was fun and rocky and all but I need a solution for Erza! At this point, I'm also not above begging. Tori was still her sassy and loyal self in this novel. There were quite a few things she lost along the way though. Some were replaceable, others not. Some people proved that they never deserved her loyalty and friendship in the first place (to them I say good riddance because I was never a fan). Things were finally moving forward with Erza and then this background plot point rears its ugly head. My heart hurts for him. The guys were awesome though it seemed like everyone had a big problem of their own to deal with in this particular book. Everyone came together at the end to help deal with the big bad. Their problems still persisted in the background though and we only have two more books to solve them all. The ending was what broke my heart. There needs to be a solution to Erza's problem. He's too precious and has lived too hard of a life to just have things end here. Can you tell I am and have always been Team Erza yet? Dear Annette Marie, please save Erza. The Audio Book: The narration was great as always. The characters were all discernable and there was no background noise present throughout the audio book.

Tori is too judgmental

I think Tori is too hard on Zac. He’s not human and doesn’t have human emotions.

A fantastic read!!

I loved this book! It was a fun story. I really do love Ezra, and seeing Robin, Zylas and Tori's golem fight scene from another point of view was cool. The glimpses I get of Robin and Zylas makes me miss the story from their point of view... Tori is still a lot ridiculous here. Shocked that her bad Chrystal druid was Actually Very Bad... but her story is interesting, even if I consider her a necessary evil to enjoy the world and other characters

Amazing once again!

Tori and the gang are back at it again. As usual Ms Marie delivered a beautifully engaging story, rich in description and character growth. I can't wait to start the next one.

Love this series

I know the series has to end eventually, but I love it and wish it could go on longer.
