Publisher's Summary
When Terra knelt to an alien Imperium, they guaranteed our safety and our future. But now their enemies are coming for us.
To preserve humanity's survival and freedom in a hostile galaxy, Annette Bond tied her world to the A!Tol Imperium, taking on the mantle of Duchess of Terra to rule humanity in the Imperium's name.
The A!Tol have provided technology, ships, and money to uplift the new Duchy of Terra, but those gifts come with strings attached. The Imperium has their own plan for Terra - but Bond has tricks of her own.
With enough time, she can build Earth a place in the galaxy. But as Bond's many enemies gather their forces, the clouds of war threaten not only the recovering Terra but the entire Imperium.

The story was captivating, narration was 10/10
The story is interesting and dynamic, bringing incredibly complicated concepts to a very succinct explanation. I really enjoyed it, and often spent time in my drive way listening to it for almost an hour before remembering I could also listen inside.
My biggest gripe is the time scale. I'm not sure why the author decided to include a new unit of time measurement into an already complicated plot I have no idea. 2 books in, and I couldn't tell you what a long cycle or a cycle even means in terms of time. not without the help of Google ad least

Great book but it has some problems!
The only problem I have with this book is that it goes out of its way to push it's LGB relationships in the readers face. I have nothing against gays and I support them, I have a lot of gay friends and family but I don't appreciate any type of Relationship whether it be gay or straight being pushed in my face I just want to enjoy the story without all this political agenda bull crap! But overall it is a great story!

Not as good as the first book.
While this is still a good book, it is not as good as the first book in the series. The author starts to belabor the romance aspects of the story, to the point they become cheesy and forced. The narration is great throughout.

One of the best books I've listened
One of the best books I've listened to for quite a while, at least among the top ten I've ever listened to.
The author and the narrator have produced such an amazing piece that let's the mind drift into the story of the book, and let's the listener completely forget the world outside of the book.
I've listened to other books by the author and other narrations by the narrator, and I am a big fan of both, but together what they deliver is nothing short of a masterpiece.
The book provokes a full range of emotional responses, and was thrilling and captivating from beginning to end.

DoT - Another Stewart Gem
Another great book by Stewart. He has written a great follow up where the only flaw is that he added enough irksome moments that you can get irritated with the reality that comes across in the stupidity of all species.
I enjoyed this throughly and think everyone interested in sci-fi or space opera styles should check this one out.

Exceeded my expectations, outstanding
Space opera at it's finest. Characters that come to life and grow and evolve. Spine tingling thrills and twists that take your breath away. Yes, I had tears in my eyes at times, and shouted out cheers at others. The audio performance was amazing, vividly bringing characters to life. Amazing that one narrator can produce so many character's voices. Completely enjoyable.

Unexpected and awesome
Glynn Stewart is unquestionably gifted. Although could have focused on political issues such as alternative lifestyles he chose not to and I applaud him this story is traditional science fiction at its best worth of he likes of Robert Heinlein, fully embracing the aspect of Adventure
