Really enjoy the narration. I love this World that has been created. Keep them coming. Rally curious where they’ll take Nari’s character.

To many inconsistencies to forgive
I could not move beyond the inconsistency of his real life brother somehow not only entering the world but different event in story imply years of experience, knowledge, and skills earned within the world.
Original premise was that this was an unreleased new gaming world. Ok maybe it was released after his death but if so how hasn’t main character met any other players? His brother is the first real person he meets and his brother says he bought VR accessories to make the game feel more real implying it’s a run of the mill game. His brother didn’t get asked to investigate by the gaming company and get special access to the servers. According to story he is there on his own entering and exiting at will.
I kept waiting for main character to realize how inconsistent his brother’s story is and that he is being tricked like with dark king in first book. But the only fool was myself for not picking up on how many inconsistencies or contradictions were in the first book as well.
More the fool me for not picking up on just how childish some scenes have been. I’m so used to reading books to my kids for young adults that I was well into this book before I realized that yes indeed publishers no longer care about quality or well written content.
Overall great premise for the story but awful exicution. On the bright side unlike many others books I’ve read in the past I will have absolutely no regrets leaving the story here and will not read the next book in the series

Cool story; lots of action
I enjoyed this book for the most part. Nari was out of commission for most of the book so it sucked she couldn't fight. Introducing a new character to fight with Ellum was cool though. Like the first book this stays true to a open world video game.

I’m surprised I like these books…
I’m 58 and not into gaming. That’s why I was surprised I really like this series.
Because it is set in a game ANYTHING can happen, and does.
What I like most is the imagination of the writers.
I can follow the story and believe (within Fantasy) all the characters can exist in the world together.
Considering anything can happen, the writers don’t simply throw anything out there. There is structure and it flows.
I can’t wait for the next book.

Really like this series
I am listening to this with my son who is a gamer and he also enjoys it! You can imagine that it is you in the game and that is fun too. Only one slight is that it takes a minute to get used to the performers voice but once you do, he becomes the characters.

I can't sit here and act like the book isn't good. The only issue I have is the fact that he says the name Ilum way too many times. Though a pet peeve, I still think that most readers understand pronouns.
