Survival of the fittest becomes harsh reality in the blink of an eye.

After an EMP attack, Greg Healy must safely navigate his daughter and estranged father through the treacherous Canadian wilderness to reunite with those holding down the family’s ranch, where frightening responsibilities have fallen on his son’s seventeen-year-old shoulders. But more than miles separate them in this post-apocalyptic nightmare, as shocking secrets come to light and vicious adversaries threaten to tear apart the fractured family.

As the Healys struggle to overcome the distance between them, ruthless enemies amass against the family with one goal - take their resources by any means necessary. The ranch proves time and again to be an irresistible draw in a world governed by Old West vigilantism, forcing the Healys to face the most difficult decision of all.

Sacrifice the ranch or witness the destruction of their family.

Survive the Fall
Survive the Attack
Survive the Journey

Prepper survivalist author Grace Hamilton invites you to step into a post-apocalyptic, EMP-ravaged world filled with strong, resourceful characters, survivalist knowledge, and edge-of-your seat action.

Canadian pronunciations....

Very much enjoyed the story. It was great to be able to relate to the locations in the story.
Was very frustrated by the narrator, not pronouncing the word toque properly.

Narrator can't pronounce toque

Narrator is pretty good but when he always says toke for toque it's pretty annoying. In Canada it's a word that rhymes with Luke.
Story seems pretty good so far.

Family relationships make the story

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This box set follows several different character groups throughout the story. The families and other relationships make the story for me - it's the relationships that make me want to keep listening for what happens next. The setting is interesting - the Canadian wilderness and a family ranch. There is a lot of adventure as part of the family is trying to make it's way home and encounters challenges and dangers along the way.

The narrator in this story is easy to listen to and keeps my attention.

I enjoyed the book but there is a few things

I did enjoy the story and the personal part of it definitely was good but all I can say is the the fact that everybody gave up so easily, wtf
they made very bad decisions on their shots, and not just any shot life-or-death people pursuing your family you would take your time and make your ammo count.
Also they made very bad decisions on when they're going to stay or go after they took over they're compound and killed the mayor there could have been much better decisions than a point I understand there is a part of the story but until the end address.
to me also the narrator made all of the kids especially sound like they were whining constantly and I cannot stand whining also even when the adults we're talking a lot of it seemed hopeless and whining people that are going to make it through the fall are going to be on their toes and not their heels the lack of weapons and ammunition disappointed me I understand that you were telling a story of a Canadian family I just wish it was more like the Mad Mick series where people actually had balls and gust how to protect their family finding guns and ammunition and doing whatever they had to do to protect their family to procure new weapons to procure new sustenance and also the fact that they had no guards or watches outside of the fence at the beginning he is a bit far-fetched thank you for your book " I hope you do better in the future"

Not worth the time…

It’s a really hard book to listen to. Not very well written and the narrator is really hard to listen to.

Want to like it but...

I really want to like this book. It's got the basis of a decent storyline. I'm about 5 hours in and don't think i can continue much further. It might get better but the majority of the dialog sounds as if a question is constantly being asked. The younger people in the story are made to sound whiny, sarcastic, and in constant conflict with the older characters. It appears as if the author (or the narrator) have a pretty one-sided view of anyone under the age of 20. The main adult male lead is either chronically skeptic or severely critical of everyone & everything. He also seems to be in constant "teenage angst" mode when interacting with his father. The timeline, while consequential, seems to be all over the place - kid stalks & battles a mountain lion, skins & tans the hide, butchers a cow, digs out a root cellar, AND walks to town & back (which we have to assume, while represented as far off, can't be more than a mile or so away)....all in the same day?
I wish i could convince myself to press forward - hoping it will improve...maybe the characters develop strongly...maybe the kids grow up & act less like stereotypical depressed teenagers...maybe grandma stops sounding like she ought to be British aristocracy instead of a hardworking, down to earth rancher...maybe Dad grows a pair and starts acting like a man as well...IDK...I had to turn it off after the last teenage girl "Daaaaddd, ugh!" Can't continue. Burned a credit I can't get back.

Norther BC

I lived in Northern BC and Northern Alberta, thus I have to question how someone can be in the wilderness and hike to town so easily. They needed to fly into a camp but were able to hike to their farm.

Also, the narrator needs to learn the proper pronunciation of “toque”! It got rather annoying.

Storyline was good, but it wasn’t to the standards or past series from this author.

Action Packed! I loved them all

These books were fantastic to listen to. I was on the edge of my seat the whole series. I was almost a little sad when I got to the end of the last book. But it had a great ending.

Wanted to like this

Tried to like this book. Good value for 1 credit. But couldnt stop my eyes from rolling. Dude fights a mountain lion. Then butchers a whole cow in a afternoon. Lots of stuff like that. Everything is to convienent for a realalistic EMP series. Narrator did good.
